Day Old Chick (DOC) sebanyak 600 ekor dipelihara selama 35 hari dibagi secara acak menjadi 4 perlakuan. Setiap kelompok perlakuan dilakukan pengulangan masing-masing sebanyak 5 kali.
This study aims to determine the effect of adding some adsorbent materials such as zeolite, charcoal, quicklime to the litter as a base for male broiler chickens in a close house cage on the blood profile and immune organs. 600 Day Old Chick (DOC) reared for 35 days were randomly divided into 4 treatments. Each treatment group was repeated 5 times each. Each repetition consisted of 30 broiler chickens. The treatments applied were LS: 100% rice husk litter treatment, LSZ: 90% rice husk litter treatment with 10% zeolite addition, LSC: 90% rice husk litter treatment with 10% charcoal addition, and LSQ: husk litter treatment rice 90% with the addition of 10% quicklime. The data analyzed from this study were the levels of red blood cells (RBC), packed cell volume (PCV), and white blood cells (WBC) and the weight of immune organs which included the thymus gland, bursa of Fabricius and spleen. Analysis of the data obtained using ANOVA (analysis of variance) based on a Completely Randomized Design of Unidirectional Patterns and if there are differences, it is continued with Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Data analysis was assisted by using Statistical Program For Social Science (SPSS) version 25. The results showed that the addition of several materials of zeolite, charcoal, quicklime to the litter as a base for broiler chickens in a close house cage reduced (P<0.05) the number of red blood cells, the percentage of packed cell volume, but did not decrease the white blood cell count, thymus organ, bursa of fabricius and spleen. From this study, it can be concluded that the addition of adsorbent material in the litter does not affect the number of white blood cells and immune organs, but decreases the number of red blood cells and the percentage of packed cell volume.
