Peningkatan Degradasi Metilen Biru secara Fotolisis di Bawah Paparan Sinar Ultraviolet dengan Aktivator Asam Nitrat

Degradasi fotolisis zat warna metilen biru di bawah paparan sinar UV dengan penambahan HNO3 telah dilakukan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh asam nitrat terhadap penurunan konsentrasi zat warna metilen biru di bawah sinar UV. Degradasi fotolisis dilakukan dengan variasi penyinaran, pH, konsentrasi, penambahan asam yang berbeda, volume asam, waktu kontak dengan sinar UV, daya lampu UV, jarak larutan dengan lampu UV, serta variasi zat warna kationik. Perlakuan variasi bertujuan memperoleh kondisi optimum pengaruh penambahan HNO3 terhadap degradasi zat warna metilen biru, serta membandingkan laju degradasi dengan zat warna. Hasil degradasi fotolisis zat warna metilen biru dengan penambahan HNO3 optimum pada pH 6, penambahan volume HNO3 2 mL dan waktu kontak 6,5 jam. Penurunan konsentrasi metilen biru meningkat dengan daya lampu yang semakin besar dan jarak larutan yang semakin dekat dengan lampu UV. Uji T dilakukan pada variasi penambahan asam yang berbeda dan didapatkan hasil bahwa HNO3 memiliki pengaruh untuk degradasi fotolisis zat warna metilen biru dengan menghasilkan presentase penurunan konsentrasi yang tinggi dalam waktu cepat, sedangkan asam lain tidak begitu memiliki pengaruh. Laju degradasi zat warna diurutkan dari yang paling cepat berturut-turut zat warna metil violet, metilen biru, lalu Rhodamin B.

Photolytic degradation of methylene blue under UV light with the addition of HNO3 has been studied. The goal of this research was to study the effect of nitric acid in the degradation of methylene blue under UV light. Photolysis degradation was carried out by varying the light, pH, concentration, addition of different acids, volume of acid, contact time with UV light, the power of UV light, the distance between solution and UV light source, as well as variations of cationic dyes. The variation treatment aims to obtain the optimum condition in the degradation of methylene blue dye after the addition of HNO3, as well as compare the rate of degradation with other cationic dyes. The optimum condition of photolysis of methylene blue dye degradation using HNO3 was obtained at pH 6, the addition of 2 mL of HNO3 volume, and 6,5 hours of contact time. The decrease in the concentration of methylene blue increased with increasing lamp power and the closer the solution distance to the UV lamp. The T test was carried out on variations in the addition of different acids and the results showed that HNO3 had an effect on photolytic degradation of methylene blue dye by producing a high percentage decrease in concentration in a short time, while other acids had little effect. The rate of degradation of the dyes is ordered from the fastest, i.e. methyl violet, methylene blue, then Rhodamine B.
