Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan faktor-faktor yang menyebabkanpecahnya Sarekat Islam menjadi Sarekat Islam Merah dan Sarekat Islam Putih serta pengaruh perpecahan tersebut terhadap peran politik Sarekat Islam selanjutnya. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian historis. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara dan dokumentasi. Adapun teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis data kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pecahnya Sarekat ·Islam bukan semata-mata arena penetrasi ideologi kelompok komunis sebagaimana selama ini dipahami. Akan !tapi ada faJ....1:or lain yaitu adanya kelemahan internal Sarekat Islam seperti program yang dak jelas, sistem keanggotaan yang longgar, sikap apologi pemimpin Sarekat Islam dan etergantungan pada figur. Politik pemerintah Hindia Belanda dan politik global saat itu Jga menjadi faktor ekstemal yang mempengaruhi pecahnya Sarekat Islam. Perpecahan yang dialami Sarekat Islam telah membuat pamor dan peran politik arekat Islam sebagai gera.kan antikolonialisme semakin surut. Surutnya peran politik arekat Islam berarti surutnya peran politik Islam, karena Sarekat Islam adalah representasi politik Islam saat itu. Posisi politik dan intelektual Indonesia yang sebelumnya dikuasai Sarekat Islam beralih menjadi dikuasai PKT setidaknya sampai 927. Dari 1927 sampai 1930, politik Indonesia dikuasai kelompok nasionalis sekuler. Pemahaman tentang konflik Sarekat islam dapat membantu umat islam memahami onflik parpol Islam selain Sarekat Islam baik yang terjadi masa dulu maupun sekarang ini .

The research aims to explain factors that cause the dissension of the Sarekat Islam into the Red Sarekat Islam and the White Sarekat Islam and the efffect of the dissension :owards the Sarekat lslam's political roles as well in the future. The research includes historical research. The technique of data collecting is done through inteiView and documentation. The technique of analysis data is a qualitative data malysis. Result of the research shows that the dissension of the Sarekat Islam merely due to the ideology penetration from the Communist group as far as now being understood. How ever, there is another factor that there is a internal weakness inside of the Sarekat Islam such as unclear program, the loose membership system, an attitude of apology from the Sarekat Islam and a dependency on the figure. The Nederlander Indies Government •olitics and current global politics also become the external factors which influence the lissension of the Sarekat Islam. The dissension experienced by Sarekat Islam had made a decrease in its political political prestige and role as a movement of ant-colonialism. A decrease of the political of the Sarekat lslam is a decrease of the political role of the lslam, it is based that the Sarckat Islam is an Islamic political representation at that moment. The political position and Indonesian intellectualists that before was dominated by the Sarekat Islam then d01ninated by the PKi at ieast until 1927. from 1927 to 1930, the indonesia politics was dominated by group of seculer nationalists. An understanding on the Sarekat Islam conflict helps the Moslems to understand the conflict of the good Islamic pol itical party except the Sarekat Islam that happened in the past time as well as now.
