Pengaruh Jaringan Sosial dalam Eksistensi Industri Tahu di Kelurahan Pakunden, Kota Blitar

Masyarakat Blitar telah lama mengenal Pakunden sebagai sentra tahu-tempe. Industri-industri tahu di Kelurahan Pakunden Kota Blitar berkembang seiring waktu melalui berbagai hambatan, seperti fluktuatifnya harga kedelai hingga permasalahan personal yang dapat memengaruhi hubungan kerja sama. Meskipun demikian, industri tahu di Pakunden tetap eksis hingga kini. Eksistensi industri tahu tersebut tidak luput dari pemanfaatan jaringan sosial oleh para pelaku usaha yang sama-sama ingin mempertahankan dan mengembangkan lahan pencahariannya. Tujuan dari riset ini adalah mengeksplorasi pengaruh jaringan sosial dalam eksistensi industri tahu di Pakunden serta memahami pentingnya penguatan jaringan sosial oleh para pengusaha tahu di Pakunden. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, studi literatur, serta dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jaringan sosial memengaruhi eksistensi industri tahu di Kelurahan Pakunden pada tahap produksi hingga distribusi. Pengaruhnya pada tahap produksi, yaitu: terbentuknya hubungan informal dan personal antara pemilik pabrik tahu dengan pekerja dan mitra usahanya; hubungan yang baik antara pengusaha dengan anggota keluarga, teman, dan tetangga; mengamankan ketersediaan sumber daya; kerja sama dapat bersifat fleksibel; adanya sikap jujur dan terbuka terhadap kritik dan saran; serta pengutamaan musyawarah dalam penyelesaian persoalan dan pengambilan keputusan. Kemudian, pengaruh jaringan sosial pada tahap distribusi tahu meliputi: terbangunnya hubungan informal dan personal antara loper tahu dengan pelanggan; pengaman jaringan pelanggan; perluasan jaringan pelanggan dan mitra usaha; membangun citra industri tahu di Pakunden; dan memudahkan pertukaran informasi antarloper tahu. Lebih lanjut, jaringan sosial penting dirawat dan diperkuat oleh para pengusaha industri tahu di Kelurahan Pakunden dikarenakan dapat memperlancar rantai pasok tahu dan menjadi jaringan pengaman sosial bagi para pelaku usaha serta generasi penerus yang mewarisi usaha.

Pakunden has long been known as a tofu and tempe production center among the people in Blitar. Tofu industries in Kelurahan Pakunden, Blitar City, have grown over time despite challenges such as fluctuating soybean prices to personal problems that can affect cooperative relationships. However, those tofu industries in Pakunden still exists today. The existence of tofu industries are inseparable from the use of social networks by business actors seeking to maintain and expand their livelihoods. The goal of this study was to explore the impact of social networks on the survival of those tofu industries in Pakunden and to comprehend the significance of tofu entrepreneurs in Pakunden strengthening their social networks. Methods of collecting data were participatory observation, in-depth interviews, literature study, and documentation. The results of the study indicated that social networks had an impact on the existence of tofu industries in Kelurahan Pakunden, from production to distribution. The impact on the production stage, specifically: the formation of informal and personal relationships between tofu factory owners and workers and business partners; good relations between entrepreneurs and family members, friends, and neighbors; the availability of resources security; flexibility in cooperation; an honest and open attitude toward criticism and suggestions; and an emphasis on deliberation in problem-solving and decision making. The influence of social networks on the step of tofu distribution then includes the establishment of informal and personal relationships between the tofu seller and customers; customer network security; the expansion of the network of customers and business partners; the image building of the Pakunden tofu industries; and the ease of information exchange between tofu operators. Furthermore, it is significant for tofu industry entrepreneurs to maintain and strengthen their social networks in Kelurahan Pakunden because they can help to facilitate the tofu supply chain and serve as a safety net for business actors and the next generation who will inherit businesses.
