IDENTIFIKASI KANDUNGAN OBAT KUMUR YANG BEREDAR DI KABUPATEN KUTAI TIMUR PROVINSI KALIMANTAN TIMUR

Obat kumur adalah larutan yang digunakan untuk membantu menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Kandungan utama obat kumur adalah bahan aktif, bahan pelarut, surfaktan, bahan perasa dan bahan pewarna. Kabupaten Kutai Timur Provinsi Kalimantan Timur setiap tahunnya mengalami pertambahan penduduk yang menyebabkan peningkatan terhadap tantangan kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis bahan aktif, bahan pelarut, surfaktan, bahan perasa dan bahan pewarna yang paling banyak digunakan dalam kandungan obat kumur yang beredar di Kabupaten Kutai Timur Provinsi Kalimantan Timur Bahan pada penelitian ini adalah obat kumur yang ada pada 32 apotek di Kabupaten Kutai Timur Provinsi Kalimantan Timur. Informasi mengenai kandungan bahan aktif, bahan pelarut, surfaktan, bahan perasa, dan bahan pewarna diidentifikasi dari informasi pada kemasan obat kumur. Data hasil identifikasi kemudian dianalisis dengan menghitung jumlah dan persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produk obat kumur yang beredar di Kabupaten Kutai Timur Provinsi Kalimantan Timur menggunakan: 34 bahan aktif (2,9% - 47%), 3 bahan pelarut (32,3% - 85,3%), 4 surfaktan (17,6% - 73,5%), 11 bahan perasa (5,8% - 70,5%) dan 12 jenis bahan pewarna (2,9% - 29,4%). Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah obat kumur yang beredar di Kabupaten Kutai Timur Provinsi Kalimantan Timur paling banyak menggunakan jenis bahan aktif sodium fluoride (47%), bahan pelarut air (85,3%), surfaktan poloxamer 407 (73,5%), bahan perasa sorbitol (70,5%) dan bahan pewarna color index 42090 (29,4%).

Mouthwash is a liquid product that helps in maintaining a good and healthy oral hygiene. The main composition in mouthwash consists of active ingridients, surfactants, flavouring agents and colourants. East Kutai Regency of East Kalimantan Province has population growth every year and consequently has an increase of dental and oral health challenges. This research was conducted to know the type of active ingridients, solvents, surfactans, flavouring agents and colourants that are most commonly used in mouthwash in East Kutai Regency of East Kalimantan Province. The research object was mouthwash available in 32 pharmacy in East Kutai Regency of East Kalimantan Province. The information regarding the composition of the type of active ingredients, solvents, surfactans, flavouring agents and colourants was identified from information written on mouthwash�s package. The identification result data were analysed by counting the quantity and percentage. The result of the research showed that the mouthwash products circulated in 32 pharmacy East Kutai Regency of East Kalimantan Province used: 34 active ingredients (2.9% - 47%), 3 solvents (32.3% - 85.3%), 4 surfactants (17.6% - 73.5%), 11 flavouring agents (5.8% - 70.5%), 12 colourants (2.9% - 29.4%). The conclusion of this research is that the mouthwash products circulated in East Kutai Regency of East Kalimantan Province, mostly used sodium fluoride (47%) as an active ingredients, water (85.3%) as their solvents, poloxamer 407 (73.5%) as their surfactans, sorbitol (70.5%) as their flavouring, and color index 42090 (29.4%) as their colourants.
