Bullying di Sekolah (Studi Kasus Bullying Sebagai Produk Kekerasan di SMA)

Tesis ini berfokus pada kasus bullying yang terjadi di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) Langit Biru. Sekolah sebagai lembaga pendidikan yang seharusnya menjunjung tinggi nilai humanisme pada kenyataannya belum mampu mewujudkan hal tersebut. Kekerasan masih sering terjadi di sekolah terutama bullying. Kabupaten Kaputihan merupakan kabupaten dengan catatan kasus bullying yang tinggi. Tujuan penulisan tesis ini adalah untuk mengungkap proses terbentuknya bullying sebagai produk kekerasan dan mengeksplorasi bagaimana relasi antara kelas sosial dan bullying di SMA Langit Biru Kabupaten Kaputihan. Penelitian menggunakan teori dari Pierre Bourdieu untuk menganalisis bullying yang terjadi di sekolah. Tesis ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus tipe instrumental. Penentuan informan menggunakan teknik purposive. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis data interaktif. Verifikasi data melalui triangulasi, yaitu cek silang dengan informan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Bullying di SMA Langit Biru terbentuk dari interaksi latar belakang individu (terkait dengan habitus), modal individu dan keberadaan sekolah sebagai arena. Pada kasus bullying di SMA Langit Biru, pelaku dan korban bullying sama-sama berasal dari kelas pekerja dan menunjukkan adanya habitus kelas yang khas. Bullying yang terjadi di SMA Langit Biru memiliki relasi dengan kelas sosial, dimana individu membawa habitus kelas sosial yang dimilikinya. Pengalaman terkait dengan bullying di lingkungan tempat tinggal dan sekolah sebelumnya serta doxa patriarkhi mempengaruhi habitus bullying pada pelaku. Korban bullying memiliki habitus menerima perlakuan tidak menyenangkan padanya karena pernah bersinggungan dengan kekerasan simbolik serta memiliki latar belakang yang membuatnya bersifat inferior. Kapasitas refleksif dari agent of change di sekolah, penanaman nilai-nilai budaya kearifan lokal serta promosi upstanders merupakan beberapa strategi untuk transformasi lingkungan sekolah.

This thesis focuses on cases of bullying that occurred in Langit Biru High School (SMA). Schools as educational institutions that should uphold the value of humanism have in fact not been able to realize this. Violence is still common in schools, especially bullying. Kaputihan Regency is a district with a high bullying case record. The purpose of writing this thesis is to reveal the formation process of bullying as a product of violence and to explore how the relationship between social class and bullying at SMA Langit Biru Kaputihan Regency is. This study uses the theory of Pierre Bourdieu to analyze bullying that occurs in schools. This thesis uses a qualitative method with an instrumental type case study approach. Determination of informants using purposive technique. Collecting data using interview, observation and documentation techniques. The data analysis technique used interactive data analysis techniques. Verification of data through triangulation, namely cross-checking with informants. The results showed that bullying at Langit Biru High School was formed from the interaction of individual background (related to habitus), individual capital and the existence of the school as an arena. In the case of bullying at Langit Biru High School, the perpetrators and victims of bullying both came from the working class and showed a distinctive class habitus. Bullying that occurs at Langit Biru High School has a relationship with social class, where individuals carry their social class habitus. Experiences related to bullying in the previous neighborhood and school and the patriarchal doxa affect the bullying habitus of the perpetrators. Bullying victims have a habit of receiving unpleasant treatment because they have been in contact with symbolic violence and have a background that makes them inferior. The reflexive capacity of agents of change in schools, inculcation of cultural values of local wisdom and promotion of upstanders are some of the strategies for transforming the school environment.
