PENGARUH BODY CONDITION SCORE (BCS) TERHADAP ESTRUS POST PARTUM (EPP), DAYS OPEN (DO), DAN CALVING INTERVAL (CI) PADA SAPI JABRES (JAWA BREBES)

Peningkatan kebutuhan akan produk hewani di Indonesia mengalami peningkatan setiap tahunnya, Brebes merupakan daerah yang memiliki sapi lokal yaitu sapi Jabres yang berpotensi untuk pemenuhan kebutuhan daging di masyarakat. Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan sapi tersebut dilakukan peninjauan performa dan penampilan reproduksinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh BCS (Body Condition Score) terhadap EPP, DO, dan CI sebagai dasar pemilihan bibit yang unggul. Pemilihan sapi Jabres sebagai subjek penelitian karena sapi tersebut memiliki beberapa keunggulan dalam kinerja reproduksinya sehingga berpotensi untuk dibudidayakan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan November 2021 dengan pengambilan sampel sebanyak 80 ekor sapi Jabres betina untuk melihat EPP, DO, dan CI di daerah Pengarasan, Bantarkawang, Brebes, Jawa Tengah. Data diperoleh dengan survei ke Bantarkawung, Brebes melalui metode wawancara dengan peternak. Data dianalisis menggunakan One-Way Anova untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh BCS terhadap performa reproduksi secara signifikasi (P<0,05). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh BCS terhadap nilai EPP, DO, dan CI yang signifikan (P<0,05) pada sapi Jabres dengan data yang diperolah adalah skor BCS 2 2,80±0,79 bulan, 3,60±1,65 bulan, dan 14,50±1,27 bulan, skor BCS 3 2,18±0,91 bulan, 3,05±1,21 bulan, dan 13,18±1,68 bulan, serta skor BCS 4 1,89±0,99 bulan, 2,46±1,00 bulan, dan 12,89±1,62 bulan. Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan antara BCS terhadap performa reproduksi sapi Jabres yang dibudidayakan di Bantarkawung, Brebes, Jawa Tengah.

The increasing need for animal products in Indonesia has increased every year, Brebes is an area that has local cattle, namely Jabres cattle which are possible to meet the meat needs of the community. One way to increase the growth of the cow is done by its reproductive performance and appearance. This study aims to determine the effect of BCS (Body Condition Score) on EPP, DO, and CI as the basis for selecting superior seeds. Jabres cattle were chosen as research subjects because these cows have several advantages in their performance so that they are possible to be cultivated. This research was carried out in November 2021 by taking a sample of 80 female Jabres cattle to see EPP, DO, and CI in the area of Pengarasan, Bantarkawang, Brebes, Central Java. Data was obtained by surveying Bantarkawung, Brebes through interviews with farmers. Data analysis using One-Way Anova to determine whether there is a significant effect of BCS on reproductive performance (P<0.05). The results of this study indicate that there is a significant effect of BCS on EPP, DO, and CI values (P<0.05) in Jabres cattle with the data obtained are BCS 2 scores 2.80±0.79 months, 3.60±1, 65 months, and 14.50±1.27 months, BCS 3 scores 2.18±0.91 months, 3.05±1.21 months, and 13.18±1.68 months, and BCS scores 4 1, 89±0.99 months, 2.46±1.00 months, and 12.89±1.62 months. Thus, it can be said that there is a significant effect between BCS on the reproductive performance of Jabres cattle bred in Bantarkawung, Brebes, Central Java.
