Analisis Pengaruh Mental Fatigue dan Sistem Instruksi Terhadap Performansi pada Domain Vessel Traffic Service

Mental Fatigue menjadi salah satu faktor resiko yang cukup berpengaruh dalam hal penyebab kecelakaan transportasi. Mental fatigue disebutkan berpengaruh terhadap penurunan kemampuan kognitif dan keterampilan pengambilan keputusan seseorang. Meskipun telah banyak penelitian yang membahas pengaruh mental fatigue dalam berbagai moda transportasi tetapi masih sedikit untuk layanan lalu lintas maritim di Indonesia. Layanan Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) merupakan sistem kontrol yang ada pada sistem lalu lintas maritim di mana operator VTS perlu mengatasi lingkungan yang kompleks untuk berkontribusi pada pergerakan kapal agar aman dan efisien. Dalam penelitian ini menjelaskan penelitian yang difokuskan terhadap pengaruh mental fatigue dan sistem instruksi sebagai alat bantu keputusan operator VTS untuk mengukur kinerja atau performansi dari operator VTS. Sistem penilaian untuk performansi operator VTS memperhitungkan karakteristik khusus dari pekerjaan operator VTS, seperti akurasi dan durasi menjawab responden. Dalam penelitian ini juga diteliti tingkat kepercayaan responden terhadap sistem instruksi yang disajikan. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap 12 responden, yang terdiri dari 6 orang laki-laki dan 6 orang perempuan. Responden disini merupakan mahasiswa yang bertindak sebagai operator VTS yang mana sebelum dilakukan eksperimen telah diberi pengetahuan mengenai cara kerja dan tugas-tugas operator VTS. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah mental fatigue berpengaruh signifikan terhadap akurasi jawaban responden, begitupun juga sistem instruksi yang berperan sebagai alat bantu keputusan ternyata berpengaruh signifikan terhadap ketepatan instruksi responden. Namun ternyata tingkat kepercayaan responden terhadap sistem instruksi yang disajikan tidak berpengaruh signifikan dalam kondisi mental fatigue maupun tidak mental fatigue.

Mental Fatigue is one of the risk factors that is quite influential in terms of causing transportation accidents. Mental Fatigue is described to have an effect on the decline in one's cognitive abilities and decision-making skills. Although there have been many studies that discuss the effect of mental fatigue in various modes of transportation, but still few for maritime traffic services in Indonesia. Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) is a control system that exists in maritime traffic systems where VTS operators need to cope with complex environments to contribute to the safe and efficient movement of ships. This study describes research that focused on the effect of mental fatigue and the instruction system as a decision aid for VTS operators to measure the performance of VTS operators. The assessment system for the performance of the VTS operator takes into account the specific characteristics of the work of the VTS operator, such as the accuracy and duration of answering respondents. This study also investigated the level of respondent�s trust in the instruction system presented. This study observations were made on 12 respondents, consist of 6 men and 6 women. Respondents are students who act as VTS operators which before the experiment was carried out had been given knowledge about how the VTS operators work and tasks. The results of this study are mental fatigue has a significant effect on the accuracy of respondent�s answers, as well as the instruction system that acts as a decision aid in fact has a significant effect on the accuracy of respondent�s instructions. However, it turns out that the respondent�s level of trust in the instruction system presented does not have a significant effect on mental fatigue or not mental fatigue.
