STUDI MORFOMETRI OVARIUM SAPI POTONG YANG DIPEROLEH DARI RUMAH POTONG HEWAN DI KABUPATEN SLEMAN

Kebijakan mengenai larangan pemotongan sapi betina produktif di Indonesia belum diterapkan secara maksimal. Masalah kesehatan reproduksi menjadi salah satu alasan dilakukannya pemotongan sapi betina. Organ reproduksi primer sapi betina yaitu ovarium memiliki variasi ukuran yang dipengaruhi beberapa faktor yaitu breed sapi, umur sapi, nutrisi, nilai skor kondisi tubuh (BCS), dan keaktifan ovarium.Penelitian ini menggunakan 27 pasang ovarium sapi potong yang diperoleh dari RPH di Kabupaten Sleman. Terdapat 2 jenis sapi potong yang digunakan sebagai sampel yaitu sapi peranakan simmental dan limousin. Data ukuran ovarium diperoleh dengan pengukuran berat, panjang, lebar, dan tebal ovarium. Data jenis dan umur sapi diperoleh dari Surat Keterangan Status Reproduksi (SKSR). Hasil pengolahan data menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada rata-rata ukuran dan berat ovarium antara sapi simmental (7,4 + 0,5 cm3; 8,7 + 0,6 gram) dengan limousin (7,4 + 0,5 cm3; 8,9 + 0,7 gram).

The policy regarding the prohibition of slaughtering productive female cattle in Indonesia has not been implemented optimally. Reproductive health problems are one of the causes of slaughtering female cattle. The main reproductive organs of female cattle are ovaries, the size of which varies which is influenced by several factors, such as cattle breed, cow age, nutrition, body condition score (BCS), and ovarian activity. This study used 27 pairs of ovaries of beef cattle obtained from abattoir in Sleman Regency. The ovaries were collected from 2 beef cattle breeds, simmental crossbreed and limousine crossbreed. Ovarian size data was obtained by measuring the weight, length, width, and height of the ovary. The age and cattle breed were obtained from the Certificate of Reproductive Status (SKSR). The results of data processing showed that the average size and weight of the ovaries in simmental (7,4 + 0,5 cm3; 8,7 + 0,6 gram) and limousine cows (7,4 + 0,5 cm3; 8,9 + 0,7 gram) had no significant difference.
