GAMBARAN OVARIUM SAPI PERANAKAN ONGOLE (PO), LIMOUSIN PERANAKAN ONGOLE (LIMPO), DAN SIMMENTAL PERANAKAN ONGOLE (SIMPO) PADA MINGGU KELIMA POST-PARTUM

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran ovarium post-partum khususnya ukuran dan kondisi ovarium pada minggu kelima post-partum dengan menggunakan 18 ekor sapi potong yang terdiri dari 9 ekor sapi PO, 6 ekor sapi LimPO, dan 3 ekor sapi SimPO. Pemeriksaan ovarium dilakukan secara palpasi rektal dan menggunakan alat ultrasonografi untuk mendapatkan data ukuran dan kondisi ovarium. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada ovarium kanan dan kiri setiap indukan. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji One-way ANOVA pada GraphPad Prism 8.0.2. Analisis data ovarium kanan sapi PO diperoleh rata-rata panjang ovarium sebesar 2,22 ± 0,67 cm, sapi LimPO sebesar 2,50 ± 0,55 cm, dan sapi SimPO sebesar 2,33 ± 0,76. Analisis data ovarium kiri sapi PO diperoleh rata-rata panjang ovarium sebesar 2,06 ± 0,73 cm, sapi LimPO sebesar 2,50 ± 0,84 cm, dan sapi SimPO sebesar 2,00 ± 1,00. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan pada ukuran ovarium kanan dan kiri pada ketiga kelompok breed. Kondisi ovarium kanan dan kiri di minggu kelima post-partum pada sapi PO dan sapi LimPO menunjukkan aktivitas ovarium yang ditandai dengan adanya folikel dan corpus luteum, sedangkan pada sapi SimPO hanya ditemukan folikel. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, performa aktivitas ovarium post-partum terbaik dijumpai pada breed sapi PO dan sapi LimPO.
The birth of a calf requires the cow to carry out post-partum activities, one of which is post-partum ovarian activity. This study aims to determine the description of the post-partum ovaries, especially the size and condition of the ovaries at the fifth week post-partum by using 18 beef cattle consisting of nine PO cattle, six LimPO cattle, and three SimPO cattle. The ovarian examination was performed by rectal palpation and using ultrasonography to obtain data on the size and condition of the ovaries. Data were collected on the right and left ovaries. Data were analyzed using One-way ANOVA test on GraphPad Prism 8.0.2. Analysis of right ovary data for PO cattle obtained an average ovary length of 2.22 ± 0.67 cm, LimPO cattle 2.50 ± 0.55 cm, and SimPO cattle 2.33 ± 0.76. Analysis of left ovary data for PO cattle obtained an average ovary length of 2.06 ± 0.73 cm, LimPO cattle 2.50 ± 0.84 cm, and SimPO cattle 2.00 ± 1.00. The results showed that there was no significant difference in the size of the right and left ovaries in the three breed groups. The condition of the right and left ovaries at the fifth week post-partum in PO cattle and LimPO cattle showed ovarian activity which was indicated by the presence of follicles and corpus luteum, whereas in SimPO cows only follicles were found. Based on these results, the best post-partum ovarian activity performance was found in PO and LimPO cattle breeds.
