PENGARUH JUMLAH PENGUNJUNG TERHADAP KADAR TESTOSTERON FESES IGUANA HIJAU JANTAN (Iguana iguana) DI JOGJA EXOTARIUM SLEMAN

Iguana hijau merupakan reptil herbivora yang memiliki tubuh panjang dan ekor panjang seperti cambuk. Iguana hijau mulai disukai oleh kalangan masyarakat di Indonesia karena memiliki sifat yang tenang dan fisik yang menarik. Sistem reproduksi iguana hijau jantan salah satunya dipengaruhi oleh kadar testosteron. Iguana hijau merupakan salah satu hewan koleksi di Jogja Exotarium Sleman yang merupakan destinasi wisata di Yogyakarta yang didatangi oleh pengunjung setiap harinya, sehingga diperlukan penelitian mengenai pengaruh jumlah pengunjung terhadap kadar testosteron pada iguana hijau jantan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji korelasi antara kadar testosteron feses dengan jumlah pengunjung. Data jumlah pengunjung didapatkan dari bagian ticketing. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan sampel feses dari satu ekor iguana hijau jantan secara non invasif, pengambilan sampel dilakukan selama 19 hari. Sampel yang telah terkumpul dilakukan proses freezedry selama 72 jam dan dilanjutkan dengan ekstraksi menggunakan methanol 80%. Sampel yang telah diekstraksi kemudian dianalisis menggunakan ELISA. Data hasil kadar testosteron dan data jumlah pengunjung dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi. Hasil analisis ELISA, rerata kadar testosteron feses adalah 140,75 plus-minus 39,45 ng/g feses kering. Analisis statistik menunjukkan tidak ada korelasi antara kadar testosteron dengan jumlah pengunjung. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa jumlah pengunjung tidak berpengaruh terhadap kadar testosteron feses.

The green iguana is a herbivorous reptile that has a long body and a long whiplike tail. The green iguana is gaining popularity by many Indonesians because it has both a calm nature and an attractive physique. The male green iguana's reproductive system is influenced by testosterone levels among other factors. Green iguanas are one of the animals kept in Jogja Exotarium Sleman, which is a tourist destination in Yogyakarta with various visiting guests daily, so research is needed on the effect of the number of visitors on testosterone levels in male green iguana. This study aims to examine the correlation between fecal testosterone levels with the number of visitors. Data of the number of visitors is obtained from the ticketing section. The study was conducted using non-invasive faecal samples from one male iguana green iguana, sampling was carried out for 19 days. The collected samples were freeze-dried for 72 hours and continued with extraction using 80% methanol. The extracted samples were then analyzed using ELISA. Data on the result of testosterone levels and data on the number of visitors were analyzed using a correlation test. The results of the ELISA analysis, the average fecal testosterone level was 140,75 plus-minus 39,45 ng/g dry feces. Statistical analysis showed no correlation between testosterone levels and the number of visitors. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the number of visitors has no effect on fecal testosterone levels.
