Air adaJah kebutuhan vital bagi kehidupan. Dewasa ini masalah air semakin rawan dan memprihatinkan. Konservasi sumberdaya air menjadi penting untuk menjamin keterserliaan air di masa mendatang. Tanggung jawab konservasi air merupakan tanggung jawab bersama. Konservasi air tidak bisa dilakukan oleh pemerintah saja tapi juga perlu partisipasi masyarakat. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Ngambarsari, Kecamatan Karang Tengah, KabupateTl Wonogiri. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui partisipasi masyarakat dalam konservasi sumberdaya air dan bentuk konservasi sumberdaya air oleh masyarakat. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap anggota Kelo'llpok Tani Hutan Air di Desa Ngambarsari. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survai dengan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui pengisian. kuesioner oleh anggota Kelompok Tani Hutan Air dan observasi lapangan. Parameter yang diukur adalah sektor pemanfaatan air~ skala prioritas pemanfaatan air~ pola pemanfaatan air; keikutsertaan dalam KTH Air dan keikutsertaan dalam penyuluhan, penghijauan lahan pekarangan, ajakan, inisiatif dan saran untuk melestarikan air. Analisis partisipasi masyarakat dilakukan dengan tabulasi dari hasil kuesioner k~mudian dideskripsikan. Analisis bentuk konservasi sumberdaya air oleh masyara~

Water is vital requirement to life. These days the problem of water is become crucial and needs more care. Water resource conservation become important to guarantee the availibility of water in period to corne. Water conservation responsibility become all people responsibility. Water conserv~tion cannot be done by just government but also need the society participation. Research executed in Countryside Ngambarsari, Karang Tengah District, Sub- / Province Wonogiri. Research aim to know the society participation in water resource conservation and form of water resource conservation by society. This research is conducted to a member of Water Forest Farmer in CO!1tryside Ngambarsari. Method used in this research is survai method with the quantitative approach through the admission filling of kuisioner by member of group of Water Forest Fanner and field observation. Parameter which measured is waler exploiting sector~ the priority scale of exploiting water~ taking part in Water Forest Farmer and taking part in counselling, reboisation of lavvTI farm, invitation, initiative and suggestion to preserve the water. Analyse the society participation conducted tabulationly from result kuesioner later; then described. Analysis the form of water resource conservation by society conducted by comparing result of perception in field with the theory about form of water resource conservation. Result ofresearch indicate that the society participation in water exploiting induding middle category, that is equal to 47,54 ~/O. This matter indicate that the society less maximal in water exploiting, what is seen in parameter of exploiting pattern irrigate. Society participation in water management including high category, that is equal to 49,18 %. Society participation in continuation of water including high category, that is equal to 68,85 %. This means that society have done the management and continuation of water better, especially with the existence of Group of Water Forest Fanner. Form of water resource conservation by society is reboisation Ofla\VIl farm, and cultivation of ab'Ticulture farm with the terrace system.
