KAJIAN FREKUENSI RESPIRASI, PULSUS, DAN SUHU SAPI PERAH FRIESIAN HOLSTEIN PADA MASA KERING DI DAIRY FARM PT GREAT GIANT LIVESTOCK

2021 | Skripsi | S1 KEDOKTERAN HEWANDairy Farm PT Great Giant Livestock merupakan perusahaan peternakan sapi perah Friesian Holstein (FH) yang berlokasi di Kecamatan Terbanggi Besar yang berada di ketinggian 54 mdpl dengan suhu per tahun berkisar antara 28,02-35 Derajat Celcius dan kelembaban per tahun 72,38-80,90%. Kondisi lingkungan ini tentunya dapat memengaruhi kondisi fisiologis sapi perah, terutama pada saat kering kandang. Penelitian mengenai nilai fisiologis sapi perah saat kondisi kering kandang yang dipelihara di daerah dataran rendah sampai saat ini belum tersedia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai frekuensi respirasi, frekuensi pulsus, dan suhu sapi perah FH kering kandang yang dipelihara di Dairy Farm PT Great Giant Livestock. Penelitian ini menggunakan 30 ekor sapi perah FH kering kandang dan pengambilan data dilakukan pada saat pagi hari pukul 08.00-10.00. Frekuensi respirasi dihitung dengan cara mengamati pergerakan thoraco-abdominal. Frekuensi pulsus dihitung dengan metode palpasi di arteri koksigeal. Pengukuran suhu dilakukan dengan menggunakan termometer digital melalui rektum. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan frekuensi respirasi berkisar 36-84 kali/menit dengan rata-rata 51 Plus Minus 10,1811 kali/menit. Frekuensi pulsus berkisar 84-114 kali/menit dengan rata-rata 98,6 Plus Minus 9,8 kali/menit. Suhu rektal berkisar 38,50-40,30 Derajat Celcius dengan rata-rata 39,4 Plus Minus 0,5391 Derajat Celcius. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa sapi perah FH kering kandang yang dipelihara di Dairy Farm PT Great Giant Livestock berada dalam kisaran normal.
Dairy Farm PT Great Giant Livestock is a Friesian Holstein (FH) dairy farming company located in Terbanggi Besar District which is located at an altitude of 54 meters above sea level with annual temperature range of 28,02-35 Degree Celcius and annual humidity of 72,38-80,90%. This environmental condition can affect the physiological condition of dairy cows, especially during the dry period. Research on the physiological value of dairy cows during dry period in lowland areas is not yet available. This study aims to determine the value of respiration rate, pulse rate, and temperature of dry FH dairy cows kept at Dairy Farm PT Great Giant Livestock. This study used 30 dry FH dairy cows and data collection was carried out in the morning at 08.00-10.00 am. The respiration rate was calculated by inspecting thoraco-abdominal movements. The pulse rate was calculated by palpating in the coccygeal artery. Temperature measurement is done using a digital thermometer through the rectum. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the respiration rate ranged from 36-84 times/minute with an average of 51 Plus-Minus 10,1811 times/minutes. Pulse rate ranged from 84-114 times/minute with an average of 98,6 Plus-Minus 9,8 times/minute. Rectal temperatures ranged from 38,50-40,30 Degree Celcius with an average of 39,4 Plus minus 0,5391 Degree Celcius. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the dry FH dairy cows kept at the Dairy Farm PT Great Giant Livestock are in the normal range.
