PEMBUATAN PENGADUK JENIS BALING-BALING DARI ALUMINIUM

Pengaduk dapat dibuat dengan proses pengecoran logam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat pengaduk mulai dari membuat pola sampai finishing dengan menggunakan metode sand casting. Identifikasi cacat coran juga dilakukan terhadap produk yang sudah dibuat. Pembuatan pengaduk ini digunakan sebagai alat pencampur bahan dari pembuatan sabun cair. Proses pengecoran ini dilakukan di KM Aluminium Yogyakarta milik Bapak Jito. Pengumpulan data yang dilakukan untuk proses pengecoran menggunakan metode studi literatur dan wawancara. Sedangkan untuk mengetahui cacat yang terjadi dari hasil pengecoran tersebut menggunakan metode analisis secara visual. Dari hasil pengecoran dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada beberapa cacat coran yang terjadi diantaranya cacat rongga udara, cacat membengkak dan cacat ekor tikus. Sedangkan, hasil pengukuran antara pola dengan hasil pengecoran tersebut juga mengalami perbedaan. Maka dari itu, ada beberapa cara yang bisa dilakukan untuk mencegah cacat coran tersebut yaitu dengan menuangkan logam cair secara cepat dan stabil, penumbukan secara cukup dan penambahan pengikat pada pasir silika.

A mixer can be made by metal casting process. This study aims to make a mixer starting from making patterns to finishing. The method used is sand casting method. The mixer is used as a mixing tool for the manufacture of liquid soap. Identification of casting defects is also carried out on the product made. The author carried out this casting process at KM Aluminum Yogyakarta owned by Bapak Jito. Data collection was carried out for the casting process using the literature study and interview methods. Meanwhile, visual analysis method is used to find out the defects that occur from the results of the casting. From the casting results, it can be concluded that there are several casting defects that occur including air cavity defects, swelling defects and rat tail defects. Meanwhile, the measurement results between the pattern and the casting results are also different. Therefore, there are several ways that can be done to prevent these casting defects, namely by pouring molten metal quickly and stably, sufficiently pounding and adding a binder to silica sand.
