GAMBARAN PERSEPSI PENDERITA HIPERTENSI TENTANG PENGOBATAN HIPERTENSI DAN PENCEGAHAN KOMPLIKASI HIPERTENSI DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS GAMPING II

Latar Belakang: Hipertensi merupakan salah satu penyakit yang dapat menimbulkan kematian. Banyak orang tidak menyadari ketika terkena hipertensi karena hipertensi sering kali tidak menimbulkan gejala. Pengobatan hipertensi merupakan kunci untuk mencegah terjadinya komplikasi hipertensi, namun masih banyak penderita hipertensi yang tidak rutin melakukan pengobatan. Tujuan: Mengeksplorasi persepsi penderita hipertensi tentang pengobatan hipertensi dan pencegahan komplikasi hipertensi Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Pemilihan informan dilakukan dengan purposive sampling. Jumlah informan yang terlibat adalah 12 informan utama dan 4 informan tambahan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode wawancara mendalam menggunakan panduan wawancara semi terstruktur. Keabsahan data diperoleh melalui triangulasi sumber dan member checking Hasil: Informan memiliki persepsi bahwa pengobatan hipertensi bisa dilakukan secara farmakologi dan herbal. Informan yang berhenti mengkonsumsi obat antihipertensi mengaku tidak merasakan efektifitas obat dan lebih merasakan efektifitas pengobatan secara herbal, selain itu informan juga takut dengan efek samping jangka panjang dari obat dan menganggap pengobatan herbal tidak memiliki efek samping. Informan lain yang merasakan efektifitas obat antihipertensi tetap melanjutkan pengobatan secara rutin dan dikombinasikan dengan pengobatan herbal. Informan melakukan pengobatan untuk mencegah terjadinya komplikasi hipertensi, selain itu informan juga meyakini bahwa perubahan pola hidup menjadi lebih sehat dapat mencegah komplikasi Kesimpulan: Efektifitas yang dirasakan terhadap pengobatan hipertensi mempengaruhi tindakan seseorang dalam menentukan jenis pengobatan yang dilakukan. Seseorang yang tidak merasakan manfaat dari suatu pengobatan, cenderung akan melakukan pengobatan lain yang dianggap lebih efektif. Kekhawatiran terhadap komplikasi hipertensi menjadi alasan kepatuhan seseorang terhadap pengobatan baik secara farmakologi maupun herbal.

Background: Hypertension is one of the diseases that can cause death. A lot of people did not realize when they got hypertension because hypertension barely shows symptoms. Treatments of hypertension are the key to prevent complications, but there are a lot of people with hypertension who were not adherence to take hypertension treatment Method: This study was a qualitative with phenomenological approach. Informants of this study were selected using purposive sampling. This study was performed on 12 individuals with hypertension, 3 family members of an individual with hypertension, and 1 health worker. Data were collected by in- depth interviews method using a semi-structured interview guide. Trustworthiness in this study was using triangulation data sources and member checking. Result: Informants in this study had a perception that hypertension treatments consist of pharmacological treatment and herbal treatment. Informants who stopped taking antihypertensive admitted that they did not feel the effectiveness of antihypertensive and felt more effective with herbal treatments. They were also afraid of the long-term side effects of drugs and thought that herbal treatments had no long-term side effects. The informants that felt the effectiveness of antihypertensive regularly continue the treatment and combined it with herbal treatment. The treatments carried out by the informant aims to prevent complications of hypertension, besides that the informant also believes that healthier lifestyle can prevent complications Conclusion: The effectiveness of hypertension treatments that are felt by individuals can affect individuals� proceeding in continuing the treatments they did. The individuals that did not feel the benefits of treatment, tends to take another treatment that was considered more effective. Their concern about hypertension complications is the reason for their adherence to both pharmacological and herbal treatment.
