Crimmigration: The Making of Enemy Image Towards Minor Hispanic Immigrants in The U.S. During Trump's Era

Selama masa pemerintahan Presiden Trump, Amerika Serikat dikenal akan perlakuan diskriminatif mereka terhadap imigran Hispanik, mengetahui bahwa mereka mencakup 18% dari populasi nasional yang membuat mereka populasi imigran terbesar di Amerika Serikat. Strategi crimmigration digunakan untuk membangun enemy image making terhadap imigran Hispanik dalam bingkai sekuritisasi sosial dan ekonomi untuk penduduk Amerika, juga untuk memuaskan ego para simpatisan ultra-nasionalis Trump. Dari upaya penghentian Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), kebijakan Zero Tolerance dan Remain in Mexico, serta tidak menunjukkan upaya untuk meratifikasi United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), skripsi ini membuktikan bahwa berbagai upaya dan kebijakan telah dibuat untuk membuat identifikasi kelompok yang akan merugikan imigran anak-anak Hispanik atas rasa aman dan masa depan mereka.

During the reign of President Donald Trump, the United States was notorious for the administration's discriminatory enforcements that were imposed against the Hispanic immigrants, knowing that they covered 18% of the national population, making them the biggest immigrant population in the country. The means of crimmigration was being utilised to establish an enemy image making against the Hispanic immigrants with the deceitful facade of bringing about societal and economic securitisation to the Americans and satisfy Trump's ultra-nationalist sympathisers. From the attempts of the termination of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), the policies of Zero Tolerance and Remain in Mexico, as well as not putting efforts on ratifying the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), this thesis aims to prove that these policies were merely fabricated to create a group identification that later would cost minor Hispanic immigrants their basic sense of security and optimistic future.
