PERJUANGAN DEMOKRASI JUNI 1987 DALAM FILM 1987: WHEN THE DAY COMES

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai representasi perjuangan demokrasi Korea Juni 1987 dengan film 1987: When the Day Comes sebagai objek penelitiannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perjuangan demokrasi Juni 1987 yang direpresentasikan dalam film 1987: When the Day Comes dan mendeskripsikan fakta perjuangan demokrasi Juni 1987 yang terjadi di Korea. Penelitian ini menggunakan tiga konsep pendekatan sastra teori sosiologi sastra milik Swingewood (1972). Pendekatan tersebut berupa Sastra sebagai refleksi sosial, sastra dilihat dari proses produksi kepengarangannya, sastra sebagai manifestasi peristiwa sejarah dalam keadaan sosial dan budaya tertentu. Berdasarkan hasil analisis terdapat beberapa peristiwa tentang perjuangan demokrasi Juni 1987 yang direpresentasikan dalam film. Representasi tersebut antara lain, kematian Park Jong Chul dan liputan berita tentang kematiannya, upaya pemalsuan penyebab kematian Park Jong Chul, dan gerakan demokrasi. Melalui film ini, penulis naskah Kim Kyung Chan juga ingin memberikan pesan bahwa demokrasi yang terjadi tidak terlepas dari peran orang-orang biasa. Penggambaran peran orang biasa tersebut dapat dilihat melalui tokoh Yeon Hee yang merupakan tokoh fiksi buatan penulis naskah Kim Kyung Chan.

This study discusses the representation of the Korean democratic movement in June 1987, with the film 1987: When the Day Comes as the object of research. This study aims to analyze the struggle for democracy in June 1987 as represented in the film 1987: When the Day Comes and describe the facts of the June 1987 democratic struggle in Korea. This research uses three perspectives of sociology literature by Alan Swingewood (1972). The approach is in the form of literature as a social reflection, literature seen from the production process of its authorship, literature as a manifestation of historical events in certain social and culture. Based on the results of the analysis, there are several events about the struggle for democracy in June 1987 which are represented in the film. The representations included the death of Park Jong Chul and news coverage of his death, attempts to falsify the cause of Park Jong Chul's death, and the democracy movement. Through this film, scriptwriter Kim Kyung Chan also wants to give a message that democracy cannot be separated from the role of ordinary people. The depiction of the role of an ordinary person can be seen through the character Yeon Hee, who is a fictional character created by scriptwriter Kim Kyung Chan.
