Pengaruh Jenis Konsentrat Platelet terhadap Insulin-Like Growth Factor (IGF) pada Penyembuhan Penyakit Periodontal

Konsentrat platelet merupakan salah satu bentuk pengembangan perawatan regeneratif dalam kedokteran gigi untuk mengatasi berbagai permasalahan. Konsentrat platelet memanfaatkan protein dari darah manusia sebagai sumber growth factors yang mampu mendukung proses regenerasi jaringan. Beberapa tahun terakhir, konsentrat platelet telah mengalami perkembangan dari platelet-rich plasma (PRP) menjadi platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) serta derivatnya, dengan karakteristik masing-masing. Kedua konsentrat tersebut memiliki standar protokol preparasi masing-masing yang dapat berpengaruh terhadap pelepasan growth factors, termasuk insulin-like growth factor (IGF). Jumlah dan dinamika pelepasan IGF dapat berpengaruh terhadap proses penyembuhan penyakit periodontal. Tujuan dari review ini adalah untuk mengkaji pengaruh jenis konsentrat platelet terhadap pola pelepasan IGF pada penyembuhan penyakit periodontal. Artikel yang akan dibahas diperoleh dari beberapa database seperti Pubmed, Science Direct, Google Scholar, SAGE, dan Wiley Online Library. Artikel yang digunakan merupakan jurnal berbahasa Inggris yang diterbitkan pada tahun 2006-2021 dan termasuk ke dalam Quartile Q1-Q4 Scimago Journal & Country Rank. Jurnal yang tidak dirilis dengan lengkap dan tidak mencantumkan metode tidak digunakan untuk review. Hasil yang didapatkan dari review artikel menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh jenis konsentrat platelet terhadap pola pelepasan growth factors. Adapun faktor yang membedakan tersebut adalah metode aktivasi dan penyimpanan pada PRP, serta modifikasi jenis dan prosedur preparasi pada PRF. Pola pelepasan IGF berpengaruh terhadap penyembuhan penyakit periodontal.

Platelet concentrate is a form of regenerative treatment in dentistry to overcome various problems. Platelet concentrate utilized proteins from human blood as a source of growth factors that could support the process of tissue regeneration. In recent years, platelet concentrates had evolved from Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) and their derivatives, with their own characteristics. Platelet concentrates had their respective standard preparation protocols that could affect the release of growth factors, including insulin-like growth factor (IGF). The amount and dynamics of IGF release could affect the process of periodontal disease treatment. The aim of this review was to determine the effect of the type of platelet concentrate on IGF release on periodontal disease treatment. The articles to be reviewed are obtained from several databases such as Pubmed, Science Direct, Google Scholar, SAGE, and Wiley Online Library. The articles used are English-language journals published in 2006-2021 and included in the Quartile Q1-Q4 Scimago Journal & Country Rank. Meanwhile, journals that were published incompletely and did not include methods are not used for review. The results of this review article indicate that there was an effect of the type of platelet concentrate on the pattern of release of growth factors. The distinguishing factors were the method of activation and storage of the PRP, as well as modification of the type and preparation procedure of the PRF. IGF release pattern could affect periodontal disease treatment.
