Pengaruh Jenis Konsentrat Platelet Terhadap Pola Pelepasan Platelet-derived Growth Factor BB (PDGF-BB) Pada Penyembuhan Penyakit Periodontal

Proses regenerasi merupakan tujuan utama penyembuhan penyakit periodontal. Protein penting yang berperan mengkoordinasikan proses tersebut adalah growth factors. Konsentrat platelet merupakan material regeneratif tambahan yang mengandung growth factor dosis tinggi. Salah satu growth factor yang dilepaskan oleh konsentrat platelet dan mampu memicu mitogenesis, kemotaktik dan angiogenesis jaringan secara kuat adalah PDGF-BB. Seiring berjalannya waktu, konsentrat platelet telah banyak mengalami modifikasi yaitu PRP dan PRF beserta derivatnya. Review ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh jenis konsentrat platelet terhadap pola pelepasan Platelet-derived growth factor BB (PDGF-BB) pada penyembuhan penyakit periodontal. Penelusuran literatur dilakukan secara sistematis dari berbagai database seperti PubMed, Science Direct, SAGE Journals, WILEY Online Library, dan Google Scholar. Kata kunci yang digunakan dalam pencarian literatur, yaitu platelet concentrate, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), Platelet-derived Growth Factor BB (PDGF-BB), dan growth factor release. Tahapan penyeleksian literatur dilakukan melalui proses identifikasi artikel, screening, dan pemenuhan kriteria eksklusi. Sejumlah 15 artikel yang telah memenuhi kriteria dilakukan ekstraksi data. Hasil review menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan pola pelepasan PDGF-BB pada berbagai jenis konsentrat platelet yang dipengaruhi oleh modifikasi prosedur preparasi yaitu teknik sentrifugasi, protokol kit, dan jenis aktivator pada PRP, serta teknik sentrifugasi, angulasi tabung, teknik isolasi dan penambahan zat albumin pada PRF. Kesimpulan narrative review ini adalah jenis konsentrat platelet berpengaruh terhadap pola pelepasan PDGF-BB pada penyembuhan penyakit periodontal.
Periodontal disease is a chronic inflammatory condition of the periodontium that can progress to the loss of tooth attachment. Regeneration process is the main goal of periodontal disease treatment. The important proteins that play role in coordinating this process are growth factors. Platelet concentrate is a regenerative material that contains high doses of growth factors. PDGF-BB is one of the growth factors release by platelet concentrate that ables mitogenesis, chemotactic, and angiogenesis. Over time, platelet concentrates have many modifications, namely PRP and PRF and their derivatives. The aim of this review was to elaborate the effect of platelet concentrate type on the pattern of PDGF-BB release in the periodontal disease treatment. Literature searching was carried out systematically from various databases such as PubMed, Science Direct, SAGE Journals, WILEY Online Library, and Google Scholar. Keywords used in literature search were platelet concentrate, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), platelet-derived growth factor BB (PDGF-BB), and growth factor release. The literature selection stages are identifying articles, screening, and fulfilling exclusion criteria. A total of 15 articles that fulfilled criteria were extracted. The results of this review showed that there were differences patterns of PDGF-BB release in various platelet concentrates , influenced by modifications of the preparation procedure such as centrifugation technique, protocol kit, and type of activator in PRP, centrifugation technique, tube angulation, isolation technique and addition of albumin in PRF. The conclusion of this narrative review was various types of platelet concentrate affects the pattern of PDGF-BB release in periodontal disease treatment.
