Potensi Proanthocyanidin pada Ekstrak Biji Anggur dan Alpha Tocopherol terhadap Shear Bond Strength Resin Komposit Pasca Bleaching Ekstrakoronal

Residu radikal bebas mengakibatkan beragam efek samping, di antaranya mengganggu dalam polimerisasi resin komposit. Antioksidan diperlukan untuk menurunkan residu radikal bebas tersebut. Proanthocyanidin ekstrak biji anggur dan alfa tokoferol merupakan bahan yang memiliki kemampuan antioksidan yang bisa digunakan setelah bleaching gigi. Narrative review ini memaparkan potensi antioksidan proanthocyanidin ekstrak biji anggur dan alfa tokoferol terhadap shear bond strength resin komposit pasca bleaching ekstrakoronal. Review dilakukan dengan mencari literatur dari database PubMed, Cochrane, Google scholar, Science Direct, Scopus, Researchgate. Pencarian pustaka menggunakan kata kunci Esthetic Dental Restoration AND bleaching, Teeth bleaching, Whitening teeth, Bleaching extracoronal, Bleaching AND shear bond strength resin composite, Radikal bebas AND antioksidan, Free radicals AND shear bond strength resin composite, Proanthocyanidin grape seed, Vitis vinifera seed, Proanthocyanidin AND shear bond strength resin, Alpha tocopherol, Alpha tocopherol AND antioxidant AND bleaching, dan Alpha tocopherol AND shear bond strength resin. Pustaka diseleksi menggunakan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi dan didapatkan sebanyak 58 jurnal. Berdasarkan penulusuran literatur dapat disimpulkan bahwa proanthocyanidin pada ekstrak biji anggur dan alfa tokoferol dalam bentuk larutan memiliki potensi dalam meningkatkan shear bond strength resin komposit pada gigi pasca bleaching. Daya antioksidan proanthocyanidin ekstrak biji anggur lebih tinggi daripada alfa tokoferol. Proanthocyanidin ekstrak biji anggur dapat meningkatkan shear bond strength resin komposit pada gigi pasca bleaching setara pada gigi tidak dilakukan bleaching, sedangkan alfa tokoferol mampu meningkatkan shear bond strength resin komposit gigi pasca bleaching tetapi nilai shear bond strength belum bisa menyamai dengan shear bond strength resin komposit tanpa bleaching.
Bleaching treatment produces free radical residue. Free radical residues cause various side effects, including interfering with the polymerization of composite resins. Antioxidants are needed to reduce these free radical residues. Proanthocyanidin grape seed extract and alpha tocopherol are ingredients that have antioxidant abilities that can be used after teeth whitening. This narrative review describes the antioxidant potential of proanthocyanidin grape seed extract and alpha tocopherol on the shear bond strength of composite resins after extracoronal bleaching. The review was carried out by searching the literature from the PubMed database, Cochrane, Google scholar, Science Direct, Scopus, Researchgate. Literature search using keywords Esthetic Dental Restoration AND bleaching, Teeth bleaching, Whitening teeth, Bleaching extracoronal, Bleaching AND shear bond strength resin composite, Free radicals AND antioxidants, Free radicals AND shear bond strength resin composite, Proanthocyanidin grape seed, Vitis vinifera seed, Proanthocyanidin AND shear bond strength resin, Alpha tocopherol, Alpha tocopherol AND antioxidant AND bleaching, and Alpha tocopherol AND shear bond strength resin. The literature was selected using inclusion and exclusion criteria and 58 journals were obtained. Based on the literature review, it can be concluded that proanthocyanidins in grape seed extract and alpha tocopherol in solution form have the potential to increase the shear bond strength of composite resins in post-bleaching teeth. Grape seed extract proanthocyanidin antioxidant power is higher than alpha tocopherol. Proanthocyanidin grape seed extract can increase the shear bond strength of composite resin in post-bleaching teeth equivalent to teeth that have not been bleached, while alpha tocopherol can increase the shear bond strength of post-bleaching dental composites but the value of shear bond strength cannot match the shear bond strength of composite resin without bleaching.
