Street Animal Rescue Center di Kota Semarang dengan Penekanan Interaksi Manusia dan Hewan

Keberadaan Hewan Terlantar sering kali diabaikan.Di kota besar di Indonesia terjadi overpopulasi atau peningkatan jumlah hewan terlantar.Hal tersebut terjadi karena masih kurangnya upaya untuk mengendalikan populasi seperti penyediaan fasilitas penampungan hewan.Jika populasi hewan terlantar tidak dikendalikan dapat menimbulkan beberapa masalah,seperti penularan virus rabies dan penyakit lain yang disebabkan oleh kucing atau anjing,bahkan dapat merusak citra kota itu sendiri. Kekerasan terhadap hewan terlantar juga sering terjadi baik itu secara fisik maupun mental yang menyebabkan hewan mengalami cacat dan trauma sehingga rasa percaya hewan terhadap manusia berkurang. Sebagai solusi mengatasi masalah tersebut diperlukan fasilitas penampungan berupa Rescue Center yang aman dan nyaman bagi hewan terlantar hingga siap untuk diadopsi.Dari permasalahan tersebut dipilih penekanan interaksi manusia dan hewan sebagai landasan dalam perancangan Rescue Center. Penekanan ditunjukan pada karakter ruang dan elemen arsitektur yang dapat merespon kondisi dan jenis hewan terlantar dan dapat terjalin ikatan antara manusia dan hewan.

The existence of street animals is often ignored. In big cities in Indonesia there is overpopulation or an increase in the number of street animals. This happens because there is still a lack of efforts to control the population such as the provision of animal shelter facilities. If the population of street animals is not controlled it can cause several problems, such as virus transmission rabies and other diseases caused by cats or dogs,can even damage the image of a city itself. Violence against street animals also often occurs, both physically and mentally, causing animals to experience disabilities and trauma so that the animal's trust in humans is reduced. As a solution to this problem, a shelter facility in the form of a Rescue Center that is safe and comfortable for street animals is needed until it is ready for adoption. From these problems, the emphasis on human and animal interactions is chosen as the basis for designing the Rescue Center.Emphasis is shown on the character of space and architectural elements that can respond to the conditions and types of street animals ls and can establish bonds between humans and animals.
