Adanya tuntutan untuk mempertahankan hutan rakyat merupakan salah satu agenda pembangunan kehutanan. Hutan rakyat yang digunakan sebagai lokasi penelitian ini ditanam sebagai salah satu kegiatan rehabilitasi hutan dan lahan dari Dinas Pertanian dan Kehutanan Sleman. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kelimpahan jenis dan struktur vegetasi penyusun hutan rakyat di Dukuh Gading, Desa Glagaharjo, Cangkringan, Sleman. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan November - Desember 2020. Metode yang digunakan purposive sampling dengan pembuatan petak ukur berukuran 20m x 20m. Jumlah petak ukur yang dibuat berjumlah 30 buah dengan jarak antar jalur dan antar petak adalah 5 m. Parameter yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kerapatan, frekuensi, dominansi, dan indeks nilai penting (INP). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelimpahan jenis pada setiap tingkatan hidup dapat dilihat dari besarnya nilai INP. Kelimpahan jenis di lokasi penelitian ini termasuk kategori sedang hingga tinggi. Pada tingkatan semai termasuk tinggi dengan nilai INP 45,10%. Pada tingkatan sapihan termasuk sedang dengan nilai INP 36,97%. Pada tingkatan tiang termasuk tinggi dengan nilai INP 71,36%. Pada tingkatan pohon termasuk tinggi dengan nilai INP sebesar 89,79%. Struktur vegetasi yang menyusun lokasi penelitian ini memiliki 3 strata tajuk, yaitu stratum B, C, dan D.

The existence of a demand to maintain community forests is one of agenda of the development of forestry development. The community forest used as the location of this research was planted as one of the forest and land rehabilitation activities of the Sleman Agriculture and Forestry Service. This study was conducted to determine the abundance of species and vegetation structures that make up community forests in Dukuh Gading, Glagaharjo Village, Cangkringan, Sleman. The study was conducted in November - December 2020. The method used was purposive sampling by making a plot measuring 20m x 20m. The number of measuring plots made is 30 pieces with a distance between lanes and between plots is 5 m. The parameters used in this study were density, frequency, dominance, and important value index (INP). The results showed that the abundance of species at each stage of life can be seen from the magnitude of the INP value. The abundance of species in this study area was moderate to high. At the seedling level, it is high with an INP value of 45.10%. At the weaning level, it is moderate with an INP value of 36.97%. At the level of the pile including high with an INP value of 71.36%. At the tree level, it is high with an INP value of 89.79%. The vegetation structure that composes this research location has 3 canopy strata, namely stratum B, C, and D.
