Peran Self Compassion terhadap Quarter-Life Crisis pada Mahasiswa

Tuntutan akademik dan tuntutan terkait masa depan mampu berdampak pada munculnya quarter-life crisis pada mahasiswa. Minimnya jumlah penelitian mengenai isu quarter-life crisis mendorong peneliti untuk menilik isu ini secara lebih lanjut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji peran self compassion terhadap quarter-life crisis pada mahasiswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah skala quarter-life crisis dan skala welas diri. Hipotesis diuji menggunakan analisis regresi linier sederhana pada 210 partisipan berusia 18-25 tahun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan self compassion secara signifikan berperan negatif terhadap quarter-life crisis sebesar 27.2%. Peran negatif ini dapat dimaknai dengan semakin tinggi tingkat self compassion yang dimiliki oleh individu maka akan semakin rendah kemungkinan individu untuk mengalami quarter-life crisis.

Academic demand and expectation regarding the future can impact on the emergence of quarter-life crisis on college students. The lack of number of research regarding the issue of quarter-life crisis encourages the researchers to look further toward the issue. This research aims to test the role of self compassion towards quarter-life crisis on college students. Instruments used in this research are scale of quarter-life crisis and scale of self compassion. The hypothesis is tested using simple linear regression analysis on 210 participants aging between 18 to 25. The result shows that self compassion has a significant negative role towards quarter-life crisis, amounting to 27.2% This negative role can be interpreted as the higher the level of self-compassion possessed by the individual, the lower the likelihood of the individual experiencing a quarter-life crisis.
