Teknik Perawatan dan Pencegahan Penyakit Rhinotracheitis Pada Kucing Di Klinik Hewan Kawatan

Penyakit Rhinotracheitis merupakan salah satu penyakit saluran pernapasan atas pada kucing yang disebabkan oleh Feline Herpesvirus tipe 1 (FHV-1) dan tergolong infeksius. Munculnya penyakit ini dapat disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor, salah satunya belum melakukan tindakan pencegahan berupa vaksinasi sehingga agen penyakit mudah menginfeksi karena tubuh belum mampu mengendalikan virus tersebut. Penanganan pada penyakit yang disebabkan oleh virus akan lebih sulit disembuhkan apabila kucing tersebut belum pernah mendapatkan tindakan pencegahan berupa vaksinasi. Data yang digunakan untuk menyusun Tugas Akhir diperoleh dari data ambulatoir atau rekam medis serta pengamatan terhadap salah satu pasien yang dirawat inap. Kasus Rhinotracheitis di Klinik Hewan Kawatan dari tahun 2018 hingga 2021 mengalami penurunan. Pada tahun 2018 terdapat 25 kasus, di tahun 2019 terdapat 19 kasus, tahun 2020 terdapat 20 kasus, dan tahun 2021 terdapat 1 kasus. Teknik yang digunakan saat menangani pasien antara lain teknik pemasangan infus, teknik pemberian obat injeksi, per oral maupun tetes. Tenaga medis juga bertanggung jawab untuk mengedukasi pemilik.

Rhinotracheitis is an upper respiratory tract disease in cats caused by Feline Herpesvirus type 1 (FHV-1) and is classified as infectious. The emergence of this disease can be caused by several factors, one of which has not taken preventive measures in the form of vaccinations so that the disease agent can easily infect because the body has not been able to control the virus. Handling diseases caused by viruses will be more difficult to cure if the cat has never received preventive measures in the form of vaccinations. The data used to compile the Final Project were obtained from ambulatory data or medical records as well as observations of one of the hospitalized patients. Rhinotracheitis cases at the Klinik Hewan Kawatan from 2018 to 2021 have decreased. In 2018 there were 25 cases, in 2019 there were 19 cases, in 2020 there were 20 cases, and in 2021 there were 1 case. Techniques used when dealing with patients include infusion techniques, injection drug administration techniques, orally or drops. Medical personnel are also responsible for educating owners.
