ESTIMASI NILAI HERITABILITAS BOBOT ITIK ALABIO JANTAN DAN BETINA PERIODE STARTER DI BALAI PEMBIBITAN TERNAK UNGGUL-HIJAUAN PAKAN TERNAK PELAIHARI, KALIMANTAN SELATAN

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode saudara kandung dengan analisis rancangan acak lengkap pola tersarang ("nested design analysis"), dengan mengambil data berat badan itik Alabio jantan dan betina pada periode starter (umur 0, 2, 4, 6, dan 8 minggu) di BPTU-HPT Pelaihari, dengan jumlah masing-masing jantan 509 ekor dan betina 513 ekor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bobot badan rata-rata umur 0 minggu (DOD) itik Alabio betina lebih tinggi daripada itik Alabio jantan, sedangkan saat umur 2 hingga 8 minggu bobot badan itik Alabio jantan lebih tinggi daripada itik Alabio betina. Komponen variansi antar pejantan (sigma2S) bernilai lebih besar daripada komponen variansi antar betina dalam pejantan (sigma2D) pada itik Alabio jantan saat umur 2 sampai 6 minggu dan pada itik Alabio betina saat umur 2 sampai 8 minggu. Komponen variansi antar anak dalam pejantan (sigma2W) lebih besar daripada komponen variansi antar pejantan (sigma2S) dan komponen variansi antar betina dalam pejantan (sigma2D) pada itik Alabio jantan dan betina saat umur 0 sampai 8 minggu (selama periode starter). Heritabilitas komponen pejantan (h2S), heritabilitas komponen betina (h2D), dan heritabilitas komponen keturunan pejantan dan betina (h2S+D) pada itik Alabio jantan dan betina saat umur 0 sampai 8 minggu (selama periode starter) tergolong sedang sampai tinggi, kecuali heritabilitas komponen jantan (h2S) pada itik Alabio betina saat umur 0 minggu tergolong rendah.
This study aimed to estimate the heritability for body weight in male and female Alabio ducks during the starter period (age 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks). This study used full-sib method with a completely randomized design analysis of nested design ("nested design analysis"), by taking body weight data of male and female Alabio ducks during starter period (age 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks) at BPTU-HPT Pelaihari, each with 509 males and 513 females. The results showed that the average body weight at 0 weeks (DOD) of female Alabio ducks was higher than male Alabio ducks, while at 2 to 8 weeks, male Alabio ducks had higher body weights than female Alabio ducks. The component of variance between males (sigma2S) was higher than the component of variance between females in males (sigma2D) in male Alabio ducks at 2 to 6 weeks and in female Alabio ducks at 2 to 8 weeks of age. The component of variance between offspring in males (sigma2W) was higher than the component of variance between males (sigma2S) and the component of variance between females in males (sigma2D) in male and female Alabio ducks at 0 to 8 weeks (during the starter period). The heritability of the male component (h2S), the heritability of the female component (h2D), and the heritability of the male and female offspring components (h2S+D) in male and female Alabio ducks at 0 to 8 weeks (during the starter period) were moderate to high, except for heritability of the male component (h2S) in female Alabio ducks at 0 weeks was low.
