PENYIMPANGAN NORMA SOSIAL YANG DILAKUKAN SEKTE SAKIGAKE DALAM NOVEL 1Q84 KARYA HARUKI MURAKAMI: KAJIAN SOSIOLOGI AGAMA TITTLE & WELCH

Penelitian ini menganalisis sekte keagamaan Sakigake dan penyimpangan norma sosial yang dilakukannya dalam cerita novel 1Q84 karya Haruki Murakami. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana sekte ini digolongkan menyimpang dari norma sosial. Kerangka teoritis sosiologi agama Tittle & Welch digunakan untuk menganalisis penyimpangan norma dan menemukan faktor penyebab penyimpangan tersebut. Menurut Tittle & Welch, seseorang yang religius cenderung tidak berperilaku menyimpang atau bersikap permisif terhadap perilaku menyimpang. Metode penelitian dilakukan melalui tahap pengumpulan data dan analisis data. Tahap pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi perpustakaan. Pada tahap analisis teks, teori Robert Stanton digunakan untuk mengetahui tema dan fakta cerita yang meliputi alur, tokoh, penokohan, dan latar. Kemudian, peneliti menganalisis tentang penyimpangan norma sosial oleh Sakigake menggunakan kerangka teoritis sosiologi agama Tittle & Welch. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan beberapa faktor yang menyebabkan Sakigake cenderung permisif terhadap penyimpangan norma sosial, yaitu: (1) ideologi ajaran Pemimpin sangat bertentangan dengan norma sosial yang berlaku dalam masyarakat Jepang, (2) eksklusivitas sekte, (3) kurangnya interaksi sosial dengan masyarakat sekitar, (4) faktor psikologis sosial di mana anggota sekte percaya begitu saja kepada ideologi sesat Pemimpin, dan (5) tidak adanya kontrol sosial.

This study analyzes social deviance committed by Sakigake sect in Haruki Murakami's novel 1Q84. The purpose of this study is to find out how this sect is classified as deviant from social norms. Tittle & Welch's theoretical framework of the sociology of religion is used to analyze social deviance and find the factors that cause these deviations. According to Tittle & Welch, a religious person tends not to behave in a deviant manner or be permissive of deviant behavior. The research method was conducted through the stages of data collection and data analysis. The data collection stage was carried out through library studies. In the text analysis stage, Robert Stanton's theory was used to find out the theme and facts of the story which include the plots, characters, characterization, and settings. Then, researcher analyzed social deviance committed by Sakigake using Tittle & Welch's theoretical framework of the sociology of religion. The results showed several factors that caused Sakigake to tend to be permissive towards social deviance, namely: (1) the ideology of the Leader's teachings is conflicting with social norms prevailing in Japanese society, (2) sect exclusivity, (3) lack of social interaction with the community, (4) social psychological factors in which sect members simply believed in the leader's misguided ideology, and (5) the absence of social control.
