Clinical Students which consist operator and assistant operator is group of health workers who are susceptible to infection transmission during tooth extraction so that infection control measures are required. Infection control measures are becoming more complex during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to evaluate the compliance of infection control measures prior to tooth extraction by clinical students at the integration clinic of Prof. Soedomo dental and oral hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research is a descriptive observational study with a cross sectional study design. Total subject are each 56 operator and 56 assistant operator who performed dental extraction in the integration clinic of Prof. Soedomo dental and oral hospital. The data were collected by filling out a checklist of infection control measures before tooth extraction. The data were processed using the SPSS analysis program chi square. The results showed that infection control measures that have not been maximized by the operator include removing hand accessories (89.3%); wearing head cap (39.3%), mask (41.1%), disposable gown (71.4%), faceshield (87.5%), gloves (57.1%); hand washing (78.6%); not holding any objects (62.5%); drying hands (83.9%); giving antimicrobial solution (96.4%); did not hold the instruments were not sterile and did not leave the room (64.3%). Infection control measures that were not maximal by operator assistants included removal of hand accessories (89.3%); wearing headcap (25%), mask (23.2%), dispossable gown (71.4%), faceshield (82.1%), gloves (60.7%); hand washing (69.6%); drying hands (78.6%); preparing instruments (62.5%); container and mouthwash (57.1%); needles and syringes (76.8%). Infection control measures that have been carried out 100% include hepatitis B vaccination, use of clean scrubs and rubber sandals, placement of the patient. There was no significant difference in compliance with infection control measures between operators and assistant operatorsا(p0.05).
