Representasi Wanita Karir dalam Anime Aggretsuko karya Rarecho

Penelitian ini membahas tentang representasi perempuan khususnya wanita karir dalam anime berjudul Aggretsuko dengan menggunakan teori representasi Stuart Hall sebagai landasan penelitian. Dalam teorinya, Hall menggunakan pendekatan konstruksionis dengan meminjam konsep semiotik Roland Barthes dan wacana Michel Foucault untuk menjelaskan teori representasinya. Didasarkan pada hal tersebut, penelitian ini kemudian membahas dua permasalahan. Pertama, peneliti menggunakan konsep semiotik Roland Barthes untuk menemukan bagaimana wanita karir direpresentasikan dalam anime Aggretsuko. Kedua, menggunakan konsep wacana milik Michel Foucault untuk menemukan efek dan konsekuensi representasi. Berdasarkan analisis yang telah dilakukan, pada poin pertama ditemukan bentuk representasi ketidakadilan gender yang terjadi di tempat kerja terhadap wanita karir berdasarkan jalur karir yang dipilihnya. Pada poin kedua, ditemukannya wacana-wacana yang ada di dalam teks maupun di luar teks anime Aggretsuko. Pada wacana dalam teks, perempuan terus menerus dibenturkan pada tugas kulturalnya; menjadi wanita yang mengedepankan karir atau menjadi wanita yang berumah tangga. Terakhir, representasi wanita karir dalam anime dipengaruhi oleh adanya wacana di luar teks saat anime ini diproduksi, membuat anime ini mendapatkan popularitas berdasarkan wacana tersebut.

This research discusses the representation of working women in the anime titled Aggretsuko, using Stuart Hall's theory of representation as foundation. In his theory, Hall uses a constructionist approach by borrowing Roland Barthes' semiotic concept and Michel Foucault's discourse to explain his theory of representation. Thus, this research discusses two problems. First, using Roland Barthes' semiotic concept to find out how career women are represented in the anime. Second, using Michel Foucault's concept of discourse to find the effects and consequences of its representation. Based on the result, in the first point, it is found that form of representation of gender inequality occurs in the workplace based on the career path they choose. Second, there are discourses within the text and that surround it. Within the text, women are still confronted with their cultural roles; to become a woman who prioritizes career or to become a homemaker. Finally, the representation of working women in the anime is affected by the discourse that surrounding the text when the anime was produced, made this anime gain popularity based on those discourses
