The study was conducted for dendrochronological, cambial increment and biomass, carbon stock on Swietenia mahogany from community forest at Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta. Sample trees were randomly selected, classified into three classes on diameter based, each class was consisting of six trees in order to measure macroscopic increment on monthly basis from March 2020 to April 2021. The pinning method was done at DBH point for microscopic observation of new cell formation at cambial activity, sample block, shaded leaves samples was collected every month for laboratory observation. At the end of the pinning method, three sample trees were harvest for further estimation of biomass and carbon stock. Sample discs were taken from the stem at the tree positions bottom, middle, and top for basic wood density, moisture content, biomass, and carbon stock (content) measurement Sample branches and leaves was taken. The sample dis was taken below from DBH point for age determination. The aim of the study, to determine the microscopic and macroscopic increment every month, to determine the impacts of climatic factors on the growth rate, to determine the tree age, to determine moisture content, biomass and carbon stock, the proportion of heartwood, and bark thickness and to expose the relationship of tree age with biomass and carbon stock. The result shows almost all mahogany has negative growth from July to September 2021 during the dry season. Bigger diameter Class III estimated more amount of biomass and carbon stock based on age and diameter size of trees as compared to Class II and I. The age of mahogany shows a positive correlation with biomass and carbon stock. The study concluded that precipitation has a positive influence on growth rate and new cell formation at the cambial activity. Mahogany is one of the valuable timber species for commercial uses in Jawa. For increment measurement of mahogany dendrometer method were used in previous study, while in current study used pinning method to give more detail and accurate information increment by new cell formation at cambial activity. By afforestation and reforestation and proper scientific management to be enhanced the potential for biomass, carbon sequestration, and productivity can fulfill the needs of industries and local community for commercial purposes.
