GAMBARAN NILAI ERITROSIT, HEMATOKRIT, DAN HEMOGLOBIN ELANG BRONTOK (Nisaetus cirrhatus) DI WILDLIFE RESCUE CENTRE JOGJA

Elang brontok (Nisaetus cirrhatus) salah jenis burung pemangsa atau raptor yang berstatus dilindungi. Banyaknya aduan, sitaan maupun tangkapan terhadap burung tersebut yang berakhir di lembaga konservasi untuk dilakukan rehabilitasi supaya dapat dilepas liarkan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Wildlife Rescue Centre (WRC) Jogja yang merupakan salah satu lembaga konservasi di D.I. Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji gambaran darah Elang brontok. Sepuluh ekor Elang brontok yang menjalani rehabilitasi di lembaga konservasi di WRC Jogja diambil darahnya untuk dilakukan uji hematologi. Setiap burung di ambil sampel darahnya sebanyak 1-2ml melalui vena brachialis dan dimasukan ke tabung ependorf EDTA. Pemeriksaan hematologi yang dilakukan meliputi nilai total eritrosit, nilai hematokrit, dan nilai kadar hemoglobin. Hasil pemeriksaan hematologi menunjukan data jumlah total eritrosit 14,5 -21,9 x106 /mm3 rata rata jantan 18,6 x 106 /mm3 rata-rata pada betina 17,58 x 106 /mm3, nilai hematokrit atau Packed Cell Volume (PCV) 29-39 %, rata-rata jantan 34,2 %, rata-rata betina 32 %, dan nilai hemoglobin 14-19 g/l rata-rata jantan 16,32 g/dl, rata-rata betina 16,12 g/dl, nilai tersebut bisa dikatakan normal menurut literatur Pendleton (1987) dan Santosa dkk. (2000).

Changeable Hawk-eagle (Nisaetus cirrhatus) is a protected bird of prey or raptor. The number of complaints, confiscations and catches of these birds have ended up in conservation organizations for rehabilitation so that they can be released. This research was conducted at the Wildlife Rescue Center (WRC) Jogja, which is one of the conservation organizations in D.I. Yogyakarta. This study aims to examine the hematolgy of the eagle. Ten Changeable Hawk-eagle undergoing rehabilitation at a conservation organization at WRC Jogja have their blood drawn for hematology tests. Each bird had 1-2 ml of blood taken and put into an EDTA ependorphous tube. The hematological examination carried out included the total red blood counting (RBC), the hematocrit value, and the hemoglobin level value. The results of the hematology examination showed that the total number of erythrocytes was 14.5 -21.9 x106 / mm3, the average male was 18.6 x 106 / mm3, the average was 17.58 x 106 / mm3 in females, the value of hematocrit or Packed Cell Volume (PCV). 29-39%, the average male is 34.2%, the average female is 32%, and the average hemoglobin value is 14-19 g / l, the male average is 16.32 g / l, the average female is 16.12 g / l, this value can be said to be normal according to the literature Pendleton (1987) and Santosa dkk. (2000).
