Korea Utara dikenal sebagai negara yang sangat tertutup dalam masyarakat internasional. Sejak isu terkait pelanggaran hak asasi manusia di Korea Utara dilaporkan oleh United Nation Commission of Inquiry pada tahun 2014, negara ini kemudian menjadi pusat perhatian masyarakat internasional. Tesis ini berfokus pada hak asasi hidden people di Korea Utara yang berhubungan dengan status kelas sosial. Tesis ini menganalisis munculnya hidden people melalui pemahaman kondisi domestik dan analisis proses pemenuhan hak asasi manusia oleh pemerintah rezim Kim. Fungsi negara di Korea Utara yang dikendalikan oleh agen atau aktor dengan jabatan tertinggi dalam sistem pemerintahan telah sesuai dengan pandangan Milliband bahwa negara merupakan instrumen bagi penguasa untuk melakukan reformasi dengan tujuan tertentu. Penulis menemukan fakta dan mengidentifikasi hidden people serta sistem dalam Korea Utara yang dapat menjelaskan hubungan sebab-akibat dari permasalahan HAM di negara ini.

North Korea is known as a very closed country in the international community. Since issues related to human rights violations in North Korea were reported by the United Nation Commission of Inquiry in 2014, the country has since become the center of attention of the international community. This thesis focuses on the so-called hidden people's human rights in North Korea which are related to social class status. This thesis analyzes the emergence of hidden people through understanding domestic conditions and analyzing the process of fulfilling human rights by the Kim regime. The function of the state in North Korea which is controlled by agents or actors with the highest positions in the government system is in accordance with Milliband’s view that the state is an instrument for the ruler to carry out reform with certain goals. The author finds facts and identifies hidden people and systems in North Korea that can explain the causal relationship of human rights problems in this country.
