Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat korelasi antara industrialisasi, konsumsi energi, keterbukaan perdagangan, dan perkembangan sektor keuangan terhadap degradasi lingkungan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk melihat eksistensi hipotesis Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) terjadi pada sektor industri. Data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini merupakan data tahunan pada periode 1971-2014. Hasil dari estimasi bound test dengan Autoregressive Distributive Lag (ARDL) dan koefisien error correction term (ECT) menunjukkan bahwa terdapat kointegrasi antar variabel dalam model. Hasil estimasi jangka panjang menunjukkan bahwa nilai tambah sektor industri, konsumsi energi, dan keterbukaan perdagangan memiliki korelasi yang positif dan signifikan terhadap degradasi lingkungan. Sementara perkembangan sektor finansial memiliki korelasi yang negatif dan signifikan terhadap degradasi lingkungan. Hasil estimasi juga menunjukkan eksistensi EKC pada sektor industri di Indonesia.

This study aims to examine the correlation between industrialization, energy consumption, trade openness, and the development of the financial sector on environmental degradation in Indonesia. This study also aims to see the existence of the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis in the industrial sector. The data used in this study are annual data for the 1971-2014 period. The results of the bound-test estimation using Autoregressive Distributive Lag (ARDL) and the error correction term (ECT) coefficient indicate that there is cointegration between the variables in the model. The long-term estimation shows that the value added of the industrial sector, energy consumption and trade openness have a positive and significant correlation to environmental degradation. Meanwhile, the development of the financial sector has a negative and significant correlation with environmental degradation. The estimation results also show the existence of EKC in the industrial sector in Indonesia.
