PRAKTIK SHAMANISME: FORUM DIALOG PARANORMAL KATOLIK DI KEUSKUPAN MALANG

Keberadaan praktik shamanisme dan institusi agama dalam satu organisasi yang sama menghadirkan adanya permasalahan penerimaan. Tulisan ini mencoba mengulas mengenai keberadaan Forum Dialog Paranormal Katolik di Keuskupan Malang yang menghadirkan praktik shamanisme dalam metode pelayanannya. Dua pembahasan utama dalam tulisan ini adalah mengenai profil Forum Dialog Paranormal Katolik dan interaksi Forum Dialog Paranormal Katolik. Profil Forum Dialog Paranormal mencakup alasan dan proses pembentukan juga metode-metode penyembuhan yang dilaksanakannya, sedangkan interaksi Forum Dialog Paranormal Katolik akan membahas mengenai relasi Forum dengan pihak Keuskupan Malang, jemaat umum, juga pengguna jasa Forum Dialog Paranormal Katolik. Tulisan ini juga menggunakan teori Dimensi Kebudayaan oleh Hofstede (2010) dengan menggunakan dimensi Power Distance, Short- vs Long-term Orientation, dan Masculinity vs Femininity yang diharapkan juga dapat memperjelas posisi Forum Dialog Paranormal Katolik menurut kategorisasi kebudayaan umum. Pemilihan teori kebudayaan oleh Hofstede ini juga untuk membuktikan adanya nuansa abu-abu yang berbeda. Untuk mendapatkan hasil tersebut, dilaksanakan penelitian ke Malang dan mengikuti praktik-praktik shamanisme yang dilakukan oleh Forum Dialog Paranormal Katolik, juga mewawancarai informan yang memiliki pendapat penting mengenai keberadaan Forum. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pentingnya perspektif dan cara menilai menjadi salah satu faktor yang penting. Pandangan mengenai hal yang baik ataupun salah tidak dapat direlativir karena tiap pihak memiliki pandangan dan pemaknaan masing-masing.

The existence of shamanic practice and religious institutions within the same organization presents a problem of acceptance. This paper would like to describe the existence of Forum Dialog Paranormal Katolik in the Diocese of Malang, which is using shamanic practice as a treatment method. Two major topics in this paper are profile descriptions about Forum Dialog Paranormal Katolik and their interactions. The profile of Forum Dialog Paranormal Katolik includes the reasons and the creation process as well as the healing methods it implements, while the interaction of Forum Dialog Paranormal Katolik will discuss the relationship between the Forum and the Malang Diocese, the general congregation, as well as their service users. This paper also uses the Cultural Dimensions theory by Hofstede (2010) using the dimensions of Power Distance, Short- vs Long-term Orientation, and Masculinity vs Femininity which are expected to clarify the position of Forum Dialog Paranormal Katolik according to general cultural categorization. The selection of these dimensions is also to prove the existence of different shades of greys. To obtain these results, a study was carried out in Malang and also participated in shamanic practices carried out by the Forum Dialog Paranormal Katolik, as well as interviewing informants who have important opinions about the existence of the Forum. The results of this study indicate the crucial importance of perspective and how to assess them are important factors. Perspectives regarding good and evil cannot be relativized because each person has their own views and meanings.
