The Role of Self-efficacy towards Groupthink in the Members of UKM in Yogyakarta

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran efikasi diri terhadap groupthink, dan berapa besar pengaruh efikasi diri terhadap terjadinya groupthink. Subyek dari penelitian ini merupakan 162 anggota Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa di Yogyakarta. Hipotesis penelitian ini adalah bahwa efikasi diri memiliki pengaruh terhadap groupthink secara negative, dimana efikasi diri yang rendah akan mengakibatkan kemungkinan terjadinya groupthink yang lebih tinggi, sedangkan efikasi diri yang tinggi akan mengakibatkan kemungkinan terjadinya groupthink yang lebih rendah. Self-efficacy Questionnaire dan Measuring Predictors of Groupthink Questionnaire dalam bentuk skala Likert digunakan untuk mengukur variabel-variabel dalam penelitian ini. Analisis regresi sederhana digunakan untuk menganalisis data karena peneliti ingin mengetahui efek dari efikasi diri terhadap groupthink. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa (R kuadrat = .002) dengan taraf signifikansi p = .662. Hasil tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa efikasi diri tidak memiliki peran terhadap terjadinya groupthink.

The research was aimed to find out the role of self-efficacy to groupthink and how much self-efficacy contributed to groupthink occurrence. The subjects of this research were 162 members of Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (Student Organization Unit) in Yogyakarta. The hypothesis of this research is that self-efficacy has a negative effect on groupthink, where a high self-efficacy will result in a lower occurrence chance of groupthink, while a low self-efficacy will result in a high occurrence chance of groupthink. Self-efficacy Questionnaire and Measuring Predictors of Groupthink Questionnaire in a form of Likert scale were used to measure the variables of this research. Simple regression analysis was used to analyse the data because this research is aimed to know the influence of self-efficacy towards groupthink. The results of this research showed that (R square = .002) with the significance p = .662. The results indicated that self-efficacy did not have an effect towards groupthink.
