APAKAH STATUS KEPEMILIKAN RUMAH DAN KEPRIBADIAN BISA MENJADI PREDIKTOR DEPRESI DI INDONESIA?

Secara global, depresi merupakan salah satu gangguan mood yang paling umum terjadi. Prevalensi depresi di Indonesia didominasi oleh kelompok usia remaja akhir dan dewasa awal. Penyebab depresi dapat disebabkan karena adanya hubungan yang kompleks antara faktor internal dan eksternal. Pada usia dewasa awal, faktor sosial yang dapat mempengaruhi kecenderungan depresi adalah kepemilikan rumah. Sementara itu, faktor psikologis yang dapat mempengaruhi kecenderungan depresi pada individu adalah faktor kepribadian big five. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melihat hubungan kepemilikan rumah dan faktor kepribadian dengan kecenderungan depresi. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berusia 21-39 tahun yang datanya diambil melalui Indonesia Family Life Survey gelombang 5 (IFLS-5). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara kepemilikan rumah dan faktor kepribadian dengan kecenderungan depresi. Pada analisis tambahan, ditemukan bahwa individu dengan status rumah occupying dan rented memiliki kecenderungan depresi yang lebih tinggi dari self-owned.

Globally, depression is one of the mood disorders that most commonly happens. The depression prevalence in Indonesia dominated by the group of late teenagers and early adults. The depression caused by the complex relationship between internal and external factors. At early adult age, one of social factor that could affect depression tendency is home ownership. Meanwhile, one of psychological factor that affects the depression tendency is the big five personalities. This research aims to see the relation between house ownership and personality with depression tendency. The participant of this research comes from individual with age range 21-39 years old. The data gathered from Indonesia Family Life Survey batch 5 (IFLS-5). The results showed that there is a relationship between home ownership and personality with depression tendency. On the additional analysis, found that individuals with occupying and rented house status have a higher depression tendency.
