Kabupaten Tasikmalaya masih mempunyai daerah reseptif malaria, Pada tahun 1999 mempunyai API (Annual Parasite Incidence) 1,15%, 10 desa HCI (High Case Incidence); 30 desa MCI (Middle Case Incidence) dan 68 desa LCI (Low Case Incidence)
Hubungan lama sakit malaria dengan penurunan Indeks Massa Tubuh dan penurunan kadar Hemoglobin juga berbeda bermakna (p Background : Infection caused by malaria is closely related with the nutritional status of the patient, because its parasite attacks and destroys red blood cells with the consequences the sufferers will experience anemia. Tasikmalaya distric has malaria receptif area. In 1999 API(Annua1 Parasite Incidence)l,l5%, 10 villages HCI (High Case Incidence), 30 Villages MCI (Middle Case Incidence) and 68 Villages LCI (Low Case Incidence)
Objective :To identity the effect of malaria infection on Body Mass Index and Hemoglobin level.
Design Study: Observational with the schem of Prospective Conort, the subject of the study consists of a Group of malaria Sufferers: 140 people and a Group of Non-Malaria Sufferers: 140 people. And then they are all examined to get their Body Mass Index and Hemoglobin level on the It and the and thezsth day. In Group of Malaria Sufferers, the length of illness observed until the 28th day. 7+h
Results : There is a very significant difference on the resillt of Average Body Mass Index and Hemoglobin level on the lSt,the 7St and the 28"t with the value p<0,05 between aGroup of Malaria Sufferers and Group of Non Malaria Sufferers. Furthermore, there is a relationship between Malaria Infection with either the Body Mass Index Hemoglobin level and the significant difference is p<0,05. The relationship of the duration of ilness with the decrease of Body Mass Index and Hemoglobin level also differs significantly (p
