Di era digitalisasi, media memiliki andil besar dalam mengkonstruksi realitas. Menurut Luhmann, media merupakan observer yang merespon permasalahan sosial, salah satunya adalah pembangunan New Yogyakarta International Airport (NYIA). Berita tentang konflik NYIA, bias menjadi konstruksi realitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori yang dikemukakan oleh Niklas Luhmann, seorang sosiolog yang menyinggung tentang ilmu komunikasi yaitu News and In-depth Reporting dan The Construction of Reality. Penelitian ini juga menggunakan metode analisis isi kualitatif yang diharapkan mampu menggali konstruksi realitas yang dilakukan oleh media.

In the era of digitalization, media has a big contribution in constructing reality. As Luhmann thought, the media were observers who responded to social problems, one of which was the construction of New Yogyakarta International Airport (NYIA). News about the NYIA conflict, bias will be the construction of reality. This study uses the theory put forward by Niklas Luhmann, a sociologist who alludes to the science of communication, namely News and In-depth Reporting and The Construction of Reality. This study also uses the method of qualitative content analysis, which is expected to be able to explore the construction of reality carried out by the media.
