Dengan banyaknya prosedur yang berhubungan dengan arteri koroner dilakukan setiap harinya, diharapkan dokter dan mahasiswa kedokteran memiliki pengetahun yang komprehensif mengenai anatomi arteri koroner. Teknik 3-dimensional printing adalah metode untuk menciptakan objek fisik dari data digital pada komputer. Model cetak tiga dimensi telah banyak digunakan dalam bidang kedokteran, termasuk untuk media pembelajaran. Namun, belum ada penelitian yang membahas pandangan pelajar tentang efektivitas media pembelajaran model cetak tiga dimensi. Tujuan. Untuk mengeksplorasi pandangan pelajar terhadap efektivitas media pembelajaran model cetak tiga dimensi arteri koroner. Metode. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode randomized controlled trial dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data didapatkan dari focus group discussion antar subjek yang dipimpin fasilitator. Transkrip kemudian dianalisis dengan analisis tematik. Hasil. Subjek penelitian berpendapat bahwa desain minimalis dan realistis dari model cetak tiga dimensi arteri coroner membantu dalam memahami anatomi arteri koroner. Bobot kognitif model mengizinkan subjek menggunakan waktu yang efisien dalam mempelajari anatomi arteri koroner. Tingkat kendali pelajar yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan atlas membantu subjek memvisualisasikan struktur arteri koroner. Namun, subjek khawatir dengan kerapuhan model dan tidak adanya panduan penggunaan model. Subjek berpendapat bahwa model ini bukanlah pengganti atlas anatomi, melainkan media komplemen dari atlas anatomi. Kesimpulan. Subjek penelitian memandang bahwa media pembelajaran model cetak tiga dimensi arteri koroner merupakan media pembelajaran yang efektif, terutama bila digunakan bersama dengan atlas anatomi.
Background. Coronary artery of the heart is a complex yet important human anatomical structure. With many coronary artery-related procedures performed daily, it is hoped that doctors and medical students have a comprehensive knowledge on coronary artery anatomy. Three-dimensional printing technique is a method to create physical object from digital data on computer. Three- dimensional printed models have been used a lot in the medical field, including as a learning media. However, there has been no study conducted to assess how student perceive the effectiveness of such models. Purpose. To explore how students perceive the effectiveness of three-dimensional printed coronary artery learning model. Method: This study use randomized controlled trial design with a qualitative approach. Data are obtained from focused group discussion between participants lead by a facilitator. Transcripts are then analyzed with template analysis. Result. Subjects find that the minimalist and realistic design of 3-dimensional printed coronary artery learning model helps to understand coronary artery anatomy. Proper cognitive load of the model allows student to spend efficient time to study coronary anatomy. Higher degree of learner control when compared with atlas helps subjects in visualizing the structures of coronary artery. However, subjects are concerned regarding the build quality and the lack of guiding structures on the model. Participants believed that the model is not a replacement to anatomical atlas, instead it is a complementary learning media to anatomical atlas. Conclusion. Subjects find 3-dimensional printed coronary artery learning model is an effective learning media, especially when used in conjunction to anatomical atlas.
