Faktor-Faktor Pemanfaatan Database E-Journal Oleh Tenaga Pendidik di Universitas Dr.Soetomo

Ketersediaan informasi di perpustakaan seperti buku elektronik serta e-journal merupakan karya ilmiah yang wajib dimiliki oleh perpustakaan perguruan tingi. Dalam perjalanan selama satu tahun program konsorsium database e-journal yang dilanggankan oleh Perpustakaan Unitomo masih kurang dimanfaatkan. Perpustakaan Unitomo harus mengeluarkan dana cukup besar untuk berlangganan, namun hasilnya berbanding terbalik dengan kurangnya pemanfaatan dalam pembelajaran maupun penelitian. Penelitian ini menggunakan model TAM dengan mengunakan 4 variabel eksternal yaitu self-efficacy, kerumitan (complexity), keterbatasan waktu (lack of time), dan motif naik jabatan. Penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Dengan mengambil sampel jumlah 88 responden dalam penelitian. Dengan teknik data menggunakan kuesioner. Adapun hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor self-efficacy, kerumitan, keterbatasan waktu dan motif naik jabatan mempengaruhi pemanfaatan database e-journal oleh tenaga pendidik di Universitas Dr. Soetomo. Sedangkan melalui hasil uji signifikansi simultan, diperoleh hasil nilai Fhitung sebesar 48,107. Sementara hasil uji koefisien determinasi (R square) menunjukkan bahwa besarnya pengaruh variabel bebas yaitu variabel self-efficacy, kerumitan, keterbatasan waktu, dan motif naik jabatan terhadap variabel terikat (Pemanfaatan Database E-Journal) sebesar 0,701 atau dalam presentase sebesar 70,1%. Sementara sisa 29,9% dipengaruhi variabel lain seperti kualitas sistem, kualitas informasi dan bimbingan pemakai yang tidak masuk dalam penelitian. Sedangkan hasil uji signifikansi simultan terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan variabel-variabel independen terhadap variabel dependennya yaitu pemanfaatan database e-journal (Y) dapat dipengaruhi secara simultan atau bersama-sama dan signifikan variabel self-efficacy kerumitan, keterbatasan waktu dan motif naik jabatan mempengaruhi tingkat pemanfaatan database e-journal oleh tenaga pendidik di Universitas Dr. Soetomo.

Availability information of library such as electronic books (ebook), and e-journal is scientific paper has to be owned by library of university. During a year, consortium program of e-journal database which is subscribed by Unitomo library is still less utilized. Unitomo library has to spend much money to subscribe the program, however, the result is inversely proportional with less utilization for learning or research needs. This study uses TAM model by using 4 external variables in which is self-efficacy, complexity, lack of time, and motive for promotion. This study is a quantitative research with survey method. It is conducted by getting samples of 88 respondents. It is got by data technique using questionnaire. The result shows that the factor of self-efficacy, complexity, lack of time, and motive for promotion influences utilization of e-journal database by academician in Universitas Dr. Soetomo. At the same time, the result of simultaneous significant test, it is obtained value Fcalculation = 48,107. On the other hand, the result of determination coefficient test (R square) shows that how great the effect of independent variables that is self-efficacy, complexity, lack of time, and motive for promotion toward dependent variable (Database E-Journal Utilization) as big as 0,701 or in percentage 70,1%. However, the rest of 29.9% is effected by another variables such as quality system, information quality and users guidance who are not included in the research. Besides, the result of simultaneous significant test has positive influence and significant of independent variables toward dependent variable. It is e-journal database utilization (Y) that is able to be influenced simultaneously and significant of self-efficacy, complexity, lack of time, and motive for promotion variables. In this case, they influence utilization level of e-journal database level by academician in Universitas Dr. Soetomo.
