PENGARUH JENIS KUDA, JENIS KELAMIN, DAN TINGGI GUMBA TERHADAP KECEPATAN LARI KUDA PACU

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis kuda, jenis kelamin, dan tinggi gumba terhadap kecepatan lari kuda pacu. Materi yang digunakan adalah data dari 159 ekor kuda yang terdiri atas 19 ekor G3, 44 ekor G4, 24 ekor KPI, dan 22 ekor KP5, 77 ekor jantan dan 82 ekor betina, 44 ekor umur 2 tahun, 22 ekor 3 tahun, 19 ekor 4 tahun, 8 ekor 5 tahun, 5 ekor 6 tahun, 4 ekor 7 tahun, dan 4 ekor 8 tahun atau lebih, serta berbagai tinggi gumba. Perbedaan kecepatan lari antar jenis kuda, jenis kelamin, dan umur dianalisis dengan One-way Anova. Jika terdapat perbedaan, dilanjutkan dengan uji Least Significant Difference. Hubungan antar tinggi gumba dengan kecepatan lari dianalisis dengan One-tailed Pearson Correlation. Persamaan antara tinggi gumba dengan kecepatan lari diperoleh dengan Kurva Estimasi. Kecepatan lari kuda G3, G4, KPI dan KP5 berturut-turut adalah 14,39 plus minus 0,49, 14,40 plus minus 0,47, 14,41 plus minus 0,37, dan 14,62 plus minus 0,63 m/detik. Kuda jantan dan betina mempunyai kecepatan lari masing-masing sebesar 14,49 plus minus 0,48 dan 14,53 plus minus 0,50 m/detik. Kecepatan lari kuda umur 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, dan 8 tahun atau lebih berturut-turut adalah 14,35 plus minus 0,63, 14,48 plus minus 0,36, 14,79 plus minus 0,48, 14,79 plus minus 0,52, 14,59 plus minus 0,32, 14,55 plus minus 0,46, dan 14,18 plus minus 0,44 m/detik. Tidak ada perbedaan kecepatan lari antar jenis kuda, jenis kelamin, dan umur. Hubungan antara tinggi gumba dan kecepatan lari mempunyai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,084. Kecepatan lari bisa diestimasi dari tinggi gumba dengan kurva kuadratik dengan persamaan Y=129,702-1,551X+0,005X kuadrat yang mempunyai koefisien determinasi sebesar 0,118. Disimpulkan bahwa perbedaan jenis kuda antara G3, G4, KPI, dan KP5, jenis kelamin jantan dan betina, umur dari 2 hingga 8 tahun lebih, tidak mempengaruhi kecepatan lari kuda pacu. Tinggi gumba yang bervariasi dari 140 hingga 161,5 cm mempunyai hubungan yang relatif kecil dengan kecepatan lari kuda.

This study was aimed to observe the effect of horse category, sex, and withers height on their running speed. The materials used included 159 head of horses which consisted of 19 head of G3, 44 head of G4, 24 head of KPI, and 22 head of KP5, 77 head of male and 82 head of female, 44 head of 2 years old, 22 head of 3 years old, 19 head of 4 years old, 8 head of 5 years old, 5 head of 6 years old, 4 head of 7 years old, and 8 head of 8 years old or more, and various withers height. The differences running speed among horse categories, sexes, and ages were analyzed using One-way Anova. If there was significant difference, the Least Significant Difference test was performed for further analysis. The correlation between withers height and running speed was analyzed using One-tailed Pearson Correlation. The equation between withers height and running speed was analyzed using the Estimation Curve. Running speed of G3, G4, KPI dan KP5 horses were 14,39 plus minus 0,49, 14,40 plus minus 0,47, 14,41 plus minus 0,37, and 14,62 plus minus 0,63 m/s, respectively. Running speed of male and female horses were 14,49 plus minus 0,48 and 14,53 plus minus 0,50 m/s, respectively. Running speed of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, dan 8 or more years old were 14,35 plus minus 0,63, 14,48 plus minus 0,36, 14,79 plus minus 0,48, 14,79 plus minus 0,52, 14,59 plus minus 0,32, 14,55 plus minus 0,46, and 14,18 plus minus 0,44 m/s, respectively. There was no significant running speed difference among horse categories, sex, and age. The correlation coefficient between withers height and running speed was 0.084. The running speed could be estimated from withers height using quadratic curve with Y=129,702-1,551X+0,005X quadrate equation with 0,118 determination coefficient. It is concluded that difference horse categories among G3, G4, KPI, and KP5, sex between male and female, and age among 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 or more years old don’t affect running speed. Withers height ranging from 140 to 161.5 cm has relatively low correlation with their running speed.
