Narrative Review: Evaluasi Formula, Stabilitas dan Sifat Fisik Aloe Vera dalam Sediaan Topikal sebagai Penyembuh Luka Kulit

Luka dapat merusak fungsi penghalang kulit. Aloe vera merupakan obat herbal dengan fungsi sebagai penyembuh luka kulit. Bahan aktif Aloe vera dapat diformulasikan sebagai sediaan topikal untuk meningkatkan efektivitas penyembuhan luka pada kulit. Sediaan topikal Aloe vera perlu diperhatikan evaluasi sediaan untuk meningkatkan efektivitasnya. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengevaluasi formula dan stabilitas sediaan Aloe vera dalam sediaan topikal sebagai penyembuh luka kulit. Penelitian tergolong narrative review dengan mencari artikel yang diperoleh dari kumpulan literatur menggunakan kata kunci dan diseleksi sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi dan kriteria eksklusi. Literatur diambil dari database yaitu Scopus, Scienedirect, Wiley, dan Google Scholar. Literatur yang sesuai selanjutnya dianalisis dan diulas menjadi sebuah review article. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi mengenai formulasi dan stabilitas sediaan Aloe vera dalam sediaan topikal sebagai penyembuh luka kulit. Informasi tersebut dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif pilihan dalam membuat sediaan topikal Aloe vera sebagai penyembuh luka kulit. Hasil review menunjukkan bahwa Aloe vera dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai penyembuh luka kulit dalam berbagai formulasi sediaan gel, krim, nanokapsul, film maupun scaffold. Sediaan gel dapat dimodifikasi menjadi bentuk sediaan nanokapsul, film, dan scaffold. Kombinasi polimer sintetik dan organik mendukung penyembuhan luka kulit. Penggunaan basis polimer mampu meningkatkan stabilitas dari sediaan.

Wounds can damage the barrier function of the skin. Aloe vera is a herbal medicine that functions as a skin wound healing. The active ingredient of Aloe vera can be formulated as a topical preparation to increase the effectiveness of healing wounds on the skin. Carefull attention should be given to the evaluation of the Aloe vera topical preparations in order to enhance its effectiveness. The objective of the research is to evaluate the formula and stability of Aloe vera in topical preparations as a skin wound healing.This research is classified as a narrative review by conducting researches on many articles by using keywords which were then selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria obtained from a collection of literatures. The literatures were taken from the database, namely Scopus, Scienedirect, Wiley, and Google Scholar. The proper literature was then analyzed and reviewed into a review article. The results are expected to provide information on the formulation and stability of Aloe vera in topical preparations as a skin wound healing. Thus, the information can be used as an alternative choice in developing Aloe vera topical preparations as skin wound healing.The results of the review show that Aloe vera has been used as a skin wound healing in various formulations such us gels, creams, nanocapsules, films and scaffolds. Gel form can be modified into nanocapsules, films, and scaffold. The combination of synthetic and organic polymers supports as a skin wound healing. The use of a polymer base can increase the stability of the preparation.
