EFEK PEMBERIAN EKSTRAK TEMU KUNCI (Boesenbergia pandurata Roxb. Schlecht.) MELALUI AIR MINUM TERHADAP KARKAS AYAM BROILER DI KANDANG CLOSED HOUSE

Schlecht.) yang ditambahkan kedalam air minum terhadap karkas dan lemak abdominal ayam broiler di kandang closed house. Sebanyak 128 ekor day old chicks ayam broiler Strain New Lohmann MB-202 dipelihara sebagai materi penelitian selama 5 minggu. Pakan yang diberikan saat penelitian adalah pakan ayam yang diformulasikan sesuai standar NRC bebas antibiotik (protein kasar 21,18%, energi metabolisme 3106,37 kcal/kg pakan, kalsium 1,25%, fosfor 0,62%). Perlakuan terdiri dari T0 diberikan air minum dengan penambahan antibiotik (tetracycline 50 ppm) sebagai kontrol positif, T1 diberikan air minum tanpa penambahan ekstrak temu kunci (air biasa) sebagai kontrol negatif, T2 diberikan air minum + 2% ekstrak temu kunci (ETK-2%), T3 diberikan air minum + 4% ekstrak temu kunci (ETK-4%). Perlakuan air minum akan mulai diberikan pada umur 8 hari. Setiap perlakuan dalam penelitian akan diberikan 4 kali pengulangan dengan 8 ekor ayam disetiap kandang replikasi. Variabel data yang diamati dari penelitian ini adalah: bobot potong, bobot karkas, persentase karkas, bobot lemak abdominal dan persentase lemak abdominal. Data dianalisis variansi menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Pola. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak temu kunci tidak memberikan efek terhadap bobot potong, bobot karkas, persentase karkas, bobot lemak abdominal dan persentase lemak abdominal. Berdasarkan peneitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak temu kunci tidak memberikan efek terhadap bobot potong, produksi karkas dan lemak abdominal.
The research was conducted to determine the effect of extract supplementation of temu kunci (Boesenbergia pandurata Roxb. Schlecht) extract added in drinking water on carcass production and abdominal fat of broiler chicken in closed house system. One hundred and twenty eight day-old new Lohmann MB-202 broiler chickens were kept for this 5 weeks experimental trial. The given feed were formulated to meet the standard of NRC (crude protein 21,18%, metabolized energy 3106,37 kcal/kg, calcium 1,25%, phosphorus 0,62%). The treatments were devided into four groups: T0 was water added with antibiotic (tetracycline 50 ppm) as positive control, T1 was water without any supplementation as negative control, T2 was water added with 2% temu kunci extract (ETK-2%), T3 was water added with 4% temu kunci extract (ETK-4%). The treatment diets were given from days 8. Each treatment was given four replications with eight birds in each replicate pen. The variable data collected were body weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, abdominal fat weight, and abdominal fat percentage. Data were analyzed statistically by one way classification of variance analysis using completely randomized design. Results showed that drinking water addition with antibiotic or temu kunci extract in different levels did not affect body weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, abdominal fat weight and abdominal fat percentage. It can be concluded that the treatments had no effect on body weight, carcass production and abdominal fat.
