Sintesis Adsorben Selulosa-Alginat Tertaut Silang Epiklorohidrin dan Aplikasinya untuk Adsorpsi Malasit Hijau

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan pH optimum, parameter kinetika, dan isoterm adsorpsi MH oleh adsorben SEL-ALG. Sintesis adsorben SEL-ALG dilakukan dengan mencampurkan selulosa hasil isolasi dari eceng gondok, natrium alginat dan epiklorohidrin pada kondisi basa. Adsorben hasil sintesis dikarakterisasi menggunakan FTIR, XRD, dan SEM-EDX. Kajian adsorpsi MH oleh adsorben SEL-ALG dilakukan melalui variasi pH, waktu kontak reaksi, dan konsentrasi larutan MH. Hasil dari variasi waktu kontak dan konsentrasi digunakan untuk mempelajari kinetika dan isoterm adsorpsi. Hasil dari karakterisasi menggunakan FTIR menunjukkan bahwa adsorben SEL-ALG terdiri dari gugus -OH dan -COOH. Difraktogram sinar-X dari adsorben menunjukkan puncak pada 2teta sekitar 14,24; 15,17; 20,70; 22,22; dan 34,83derajat. Morfologi SEM-EDX menunjukkan bahwa adsorben SEL-ALG mengandung unsur C, O, Na, dan Cl. Kapasitas adsorpsi optimum adsorben SEL-ALG terhadap MH (11,29 mg g-1) terjadi pada pH 8 dengan waktu kontak optimum pada menit ke 240. Model kinetika adsorpsi MH oleh adsorben SEL-ALG mengikuti model kinetika orde kedua semu dengan konstanta laju reaksi sebesar 6,014 x 10-4 g mg-1 min-1 dan isoterm adsorpsi mengikuti model isoterm Freundlich. SYNTHESIS OF EPICHLOROHYDRIN CROSS-LINKED CELLULOSE-ALGINATE ADSORBENTS AND ITS APPLICATION FOR MALACHITE GREEN ADSORPTION Muhammad Al Farizi 16/398585/PA/17546 ABSTRACT Synthesis of epichlorohydrin cross-linked cellulose-alginate (SEL-ALG) adsorbents and its application for malachite green (MH) adsorption has been conducted. This research were aimed to determine the optimum pH, kinetics parameters, and adsorption isotherm of MH by the SEL-ALG adsorbent.The SEL-ALG adsorbent was prepared by mixing the isolated cellulose of water hyacinth, sodium alginate, and epichlorohydrin under alkaline conditions. The synthesized SEL-ALG adsorbent was characterized using FTIR, XRD, and SEM-EDX. The adsorption of MH by the adsorbent was studied under variations of pH, reaction contact time, and concentration of MH solution. The results from the contact time and concentration were used to study the kinetics and adsorption isotherm. The results of FTIR characterization showed that the SEL-ALG adsorbent consisted of -OH and -COOH groups. The diffractogram of the adsorbent showed peaks at 2theta around 14.24, 15.17, 20.70, 22.22, and 34.83degree. The SEM-EDX morphology showed that the adsorbent contained of C, O, Na, and Cl. The optimum adsorption capacity of the adsorbent towards MH (11.29 mg g-1) was reached at pH 8, the contact time of 240 min. The adsorption kinetics model of MH by the adsorbent was pseudo second order kinetics model with a reaction rate constant of 6.014 x 10-4 g mg-1 min-1 and an isotherm adsorption followed the Freundlich adsorption isotherm model.
