Palatabilitas Fodder Jagung, Sorgum, Kacang Hijau, dan Kacang Tanah sebagai Bahan Pakan Kelinci

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui produksi, palatabilitas, dan kecukupan nutrien fodder jagung, sorgum, kacang hijau, dan kacang tanah sebagai bahan pakan kelinci.Pembuatan fodder dilakukan dengan perendaman biji selama sehari, penebaran benih di baki, penyiraman rutin sehari 3 kali, dan pemanenan pada umur 10 hari. Sebanyak 12 ekor kelinci Rex jantan umur 12 minggu digunakan untuk uji palatabilitas dan kecukupan nutrien. Kelinci dipelihara di dalam kandang individu. Fodder diberikan kepada ternak secara bersamaan dengan metode free choice feeding. Pemberian dilakukan selama sepuluh hari berturut-turut. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan One way analysis of variancedan dilanjutkan dengan Duncan New Multiple Range Test. Total produksi kering fodder jagung, sorgum, kacang hijau, dan kacang tanah masing-masing sebesar 1,35+-0,30, 0,82+-0,17, 0,83+-0,08, dan 1,03+-0,29kg. Produksi fodder jagung menunjukkan hasil lebih tinggi (P<0,05) dibandingkan jenis fodder yang lain. Konsumsi bahan kering fodder jagung, sorgum, kacang hijau, dan kacang tanah masing-masing sebesar 46,35+-16,19, 39,72+-11,94, 33,08+-7,85, 32,52+-8,75 g/hari. Konsumsi bahan kering fodder jagung lebih tinggi (P<0,05) dibandingkan jenis fodder yang lain. Total konsumsibahan kering, protein kasar, serat kasar, lemak kasar, dan energi pada pemberian keempat jenis fodder secara bersamaan yaitu 151,67 gram/ekor/hari, 20,26%, 10,8%, 12,29%, dan 1.175,52 Kcal/hari. Total konsumsi bahan kering, protein kasar, serat kasar, dan lemak kasar lebih tinggi daripada kebutuhan untuk kelinci umur 12 minggu, tetapi total konsumsi energi lebih rendah dibandingkan kebutuhan. Disimpulkan bahwa produksi dan palatabilitas fodder jagung lebih tinggi dibandingkan jenis fodder yang lain. Pemberian keempat jenis fodder secara bersamaan dengan metode free choice feeding telah memenuhi kebutuhan meliputi bahan kering, protein kasar, serat kasar dan lemak kasar, tetapi belum mencukupi kebutuhan energi kelinci Rex jantan umur 12 minggu.

This study was conducted to observe the production, palatability, and nutrient adequacy of maize, shorgum, mungbean, and peanut fodders as a rabbit feedstuff. The fodder preparation included seed soaked for a day, spreaded in the tray, watered regularly in 3 times a day, and harvested at the age of 10 days. Twelve heads of 12 weeks old of male Rex rabbit were used in palatability and nutrient adequacy test. They were kept in the individual cages. Fodder was given simultaneously in the free choice feeding method. The data was analyzed using One Way Analysis of Variance, and continued with Duncan New Multiple Range Test. Total dry matter production of maize, shorgum, mungbean, and peanut fodders were 1.35+-0.30, 0.82+-0.17, 0.83+-0.08, and 1.03+-0.29 kg, respectively. The production of maize fodder higher (P<0.05) among others. The dry matter intake of maize, shorgum, mungbean, and peanut fodders were 46.35+-16.19, 39.72+-11.94, 33.08+-7.85, 32.52+-8.75 g/day, respectively. The dry matter intake of maize fodder was higher (P<0.05) among others. The total consumption of dry matter, crude protein, crude fiber, crude fat, and energy of all the fodders were 151.67 g/day, 20.26%, 6.45%, 12.29%, and 1.175.52 Kcal/day, respectively. The total consumption of dry matter, crude protein, crude fiber, and crude fat were higher than requirement for 12 weeks old of male rabbit, but the total consumption of energy was lower than that. It is concluded that the productivity and palatability of maize fodder was higher among others. Feeding all of the fodders together in the free choice feeding method fulfills dry matter, crude protein, crude fibre, and crude fat requirement of rabbit except energy.
