PENGARUH UMUR PEMOTONGAN Cichorium intybus INTERCROPPING DENGAN Pennisetum purpureum cv.Mott TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN, PRODUKSI, KOMPOSISI DAN KECERNAAN NUTRIEN

2020 | Tesis | MAGISTER ILMU PETERNAKANPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan, produksi, nutrien dan kecernaan bahan kering serta bahan organik chicory (Cichorium intybus) pada umur pemotongan berbeda intercropping dengan rumput odot (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott). Penelitian dilakukan di lahan Hijauan Makanan Ternak Fakultas Peternakan UGM selama 8 bulan, rancangan petak terbagi (split plot desain) dengan umur pemotongan (30, 45 dan 60 hari) sebagai main plot dan regrowth (Regrowth 1 dan 2 ) sebagai sub plot, masing-masing 3 ulangan. Stek rumput odot ditanam terlebih dahulu hingga tinggi mencapai 10-15 cm dengan jarak 1 meter, kemudian biji chicory disebar disela-sela rumput odot dengan luas 40x40 cm. Luas 1 plot 2,5 x 2,5 m, pengamatan yang dilakukan meliputi tinggi, panjang tanaman, produksi segar, produksi bahan kering, produksi bahan organik, produksi protein kasar, bahan organik (BO), bahan kering (BK), lemak kasar (LK), serat kasar (SK), protein kasar (PK), kecernaan bahan kering (KcBK) dan kecernaan bahan organik (KcBO). Data penelitian dianalisis dengan split plot design dan apabila terdapat perbedaan maka dilakukan uji Duncan's new Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Umur pemotongan chicory 60 hari memiliki tinggi dan panjang tanaman lebih tinggi (P<0,05) dibandingkan umur 30 dan 45 hari. Semakin tua umur pemotongan semakin tinggi kadar bahan kering, bahan organik, serat kasar, lemak kasar, produksi segar, produksi bahan kering, produksi bahan organik dan produksi protein kasar. Pertumbuhan tanaman, produksi segar, produksi bahan kering, produksi bahan organik, dan produksi protein kasar pada regrowth kedua lebih tinggi (P<0,05) dibandingkan regrowth pertama. Semakin tuanya umur pemotongan tanaman (P<0,05) serat kasar chicory meningkat dari 11,42% menjadi 13,17%, namun protein kasar chicory turun dari 23,75% menjadi 21,48% sedangkan rumput odot dari 11,71% menjadi 10,56% tetapi produksi chicory, rumput odot dan produksi segar campuran meningkat, produksi segar campuran (chicory + odot) sebesar 25,26 ton/ha. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin tua umur tanaman maka kandungan SK, Produksi segar, BK, BO dan PK meningkat, namun menurunkan kandungan protein kasar dan kecernaan. Regrowth kedua produksi segar, bahan kering, bahan organik dan protein kasar lebih baik dibandingkan regrowth pertama.
This study aimed to determine the growth, production, nutrient content and dry matter digestibility and organic matter digestibility of chicory (Cichorium intybus) at different cutting interval intercropping with odot grass (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott). The research was conducted in the Forage area of the Faculty of Animal Science UGM for 8 months, split plot design with cutting interval (30, 45 and 60 days) as the main plot and regrowth (Regrowth 1 and 2) as the sub plot, respectively with three replications. The cuttings of odot grass were planted first until they reached a height of 10-15 cm with a distance of 1 meter, then the chicory seeds were spread among the odot grass with an area of 40x40 cm. A plot area of 2.5 x 2.5 m, observations made include height, plant length, fresh production, dry matter production, organic matter production, crude protein production, organic matter (OM), dry matter (DM), ether extrac (EE), crude fiber (CF), crude protein (CP), dry matter digestibility (DMD) and digestibility of organic matter (OMD). The research data were analyzed by means of a split plot design and if there were differences, Duncan's new Multiple Range Test (DMRT) was conducted. The cutting interval of 60 days of chicory cutting had higher plant height and plant length (P <0.05) than the age of 30 and 45 days. The older the cutting interval increased (P <0.05) dry matter, organic matter, crude fiber, extrac eter, fresh production, dry matter production, organic matter production and crude protein production. The second regrowth had higher plant length, fresh production, dry matter production, organic matter production, and crude protein production (P<0.05) than the first regrowth. The older the cutting interval (P <0.05) crude fiber of chicory increased 11,42% to 13,17%, the crude protein of chicory decreased from 23.75% to 21.48%, while the grass odot from 11.71% to 10.56% but production of chicory, odot grass and mixed biomass (chicory and odot) increased, mixed biomass (chicory + odot) is 25.26 ton/ha. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the older the cutting interval was able to increase growth, production and nutrient content but decreased crude protein and digestibility of chicory. The cutting in the second regrowth of fresh production, dry matter production, organic matter production and protein production was better than the first regrowth.
