Ragam Deiksis Bahasa Inggris Dalam Novel Karya Archer Shall We Tell The President?

Deiksis memiliki peran penting dalam komunikasi antar individu. Ia menjadi acuan dalam setiap dialog yang tercipta, baik acuan persona, waktu, sosial, atau pun acuan lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan ungkapan-ungkapan deiksis dalam novel bahasa Inggris Shall We Tell The President? karya Jeffrey Archer (2003); dan juga untuk menjelaskan hubungan antara hal-hal diluar bahasa (kekuasaan, solidaritas dan identitas sosial) dengan deiksis persona dan deiksis sosial dalam novel bahasa Inggris Shall We Tell The President? karya Jeffrey Archer (2003). Peneliti mengumpulkan data penelitian dengan metode observasi non partisipasi, menganalisisnya dengan metode padan referensial dan menyajikannya dengan metode informal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara acuan-acuan dengan ragam-ragam deiksis seperti 1) waktu, 2) persona, 3) sosial, 4) tempat dan 5) wacana. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan adanya relasi antara deiksis persona dan deiksis sosial dengan kekuasaan, solidaritas dan identitas sosial.

Deixis is an important part when people communicate with others. It becomes referent in each dialogue, either person, time, social, or another referent. This research aims at explaining the expressions of deixis in the English novel Shall We Tell The President? by Jeffrey Archer (2003); and also explaining relation between the things related to language ( the power, the solidarity and social identities) and person deixis and social deixis in this English novel. The researcher collected the data using non participation observation method, analysing it using refential equivalent method and presenting it using informal method. Research result showed there was the relation between the referents and the kinds of deixis like 1) the time, 2) person, 3) social, 4) the place and 5) the discourse. The research result also showed there were the relation between deixis of person and power and solidarity; and the relation between deixis of social and social identities.
