Pengaruh Perawatan Ortodonti Teknik Begg dan Straightwire terhadap Posis Molar, Sudut Bidang Oklusal, Tinggi Wajah Anterior dan Posterior

INTISARI Maloklusi Angle kelas I bimaksilar dan bidental protrusi memiliki ciri khas profil wajah cembung dan bibir protrusi karena inklinasi gigi anterior lebih ke labial. Pencabutan empat premolar pertama merupakan pilihan yang paling sering dilakukan untuk perawatan ortodonti kasus tersebut ketika semua gigi permanen sudah lengkap dan dalam susunan baik. Perawatan ortodonti dapat dilakukan menggunakan teknik Begg maupun Straightwire. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh perawatan ortodonti teknik Begg dan Straightwire terhadap posisi molar, bidang oklusal, tinggi wajah anterior dan posterior. Penelitian dilakukan pada 60 pasang sefalogram lateral pasien sebelum dan setelah perawatan ortodonti dengan kriteria: maloklusi Angle klas I bimaksilar dan bidental protrusi, usia 18-35 tahun, pencabutan empat gigi premolar pertama, telah selesai menjalani perawatan ortodonti menggunakan teknik Begg atau Straightwire. Posisi molar, sudut bidang oklusal, tinggi wajah anterior dan posterior diukur menggunakan metode Pancherz, Steiner dan Gebeck. Data dianalisis menggunakan two-way repeated anova dan korelasi product moment Pearson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa posisi molar, sudut bidang oklusal, tinggi wajah anterior dan posterior meningkat signifikan setelah perawatan teknik Begg dan menurun signifikan setelah perawatan teknik Straightwire (p<0,05), namun tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan ke empat variabel antara kedua teknik tersebut (p>0,05). Korelasi sedang dan searah antar variabel baik pada teknik Begg maupun Straightwire. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah molar mengalami ektrusi dan mesialisasi serta sudut bidang oklusal serta tinggi wajah anterior dan posterior meningkat setelah perawatan teknik Begg. Molar bergerak ke mesial dan ekstrusi serta terdapat penurunan sudut bidang oklusal, tinggi wajah anterior dan posterior setelah perawatan teknik Straightwire. Bimaxillary and bidental protrusion Class I Angle malocclusions have a characteristic convex facial profile and protrusion lips due to the labial inclination of the anterior teeth. Extraction of the first four premolars is the most common choice for orthodontic treatment of these cases when all the permanent teeth are complete and in good order. Orthodontic treatment can be performed using the Begg or Straightwire techniques. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of orthodontic treatment with Begg and Straightwire techniques on molar position, occlusal plane, anterior and posterior facial height. Study was performed using 60 pair of before and after treatment lateral cephalogram of patient with bimaxillary and bidental protrusive Angle malocclusion class I, aged 18-35 years old, underwent orthodontic treatment using Begg and Straightwire technique with extraction of all first premolar and met inclussion criteria. Data analysis was performed using two-way repeated anova and Pearson correlation test. The results showed that molar position, occlusal plane angle, anterior and posterior facial height increased significantly after Begg technique treatment and decreased significantly after Straightwire technique treatment (p <0.05), but there were no significant differences between the four variables between the two techniques ( p> 0.05). Medium and unidirectional correlation between variables in both Begg and Straightwire techniques. The conclusion of the study was that the molars were extruded and mesialized and the angle of the occlusal plane and the height of the anterior and posterior faces increased after Begg technique treatment. The molars move mesial and extruded and there is a decrease in the angle of the occlusal plane, the height of the anterior and posterior faces after treatment with the Straightwire technique.
