Penelitian ini berobjek material pemikiran Gandhi dan Pancasila, khususnya sila kemanusiaan yang adil dan beradab, objek formalnya Filsafat Manusia. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menemukan unsur-unsur Filsafat Manusia yang terkandung dalam ajaran Gandhi, agar diperoleh kejelasan guna memperkaya materi Filsafat Manusia yang selama ini ditekankan pada konsep-konsep yang berasal dari para Filsuf dan Pemikir Barat daripada Filsafat Timur. Pencarian data dilakukan melalui penelitian kepustakaan baik berupa karya primer maupun sekunder, dari buku-buku dan karya-karya penelitian baik yang sudah diterbitkan maupun belum, berupa naskah lepas maupun karya-karya penelitian, yang terdapat di perpustakaan-perpustakaan Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Data yang telah terkumpul diklarifikasikan sesuai dengan topik penelitian, disistimatisasikan dan dianalisis berdasar pada teori desknpsi, interpretasi, refleksi dan historis faktual untuk menguji hipotesis yang diaj ukan. Penarikan kesimpulan berdasarkan pada kaidah logika dan keilmuan agar dapat dipertanggunglawabkan secara ilmiah maupun kemanusiaan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: Unsur-unsur Filsafat Manusia yang terkandung dalam pemikiran Gandhi dapat ditelaah dari sumber primernya yaitu: An Autobiography or The Story of My Experiments with Truth, Ail Men are Brothers. Filsafat Manusia dalam ajaran Gandhi berfokus pada hakikat manusia,’kodrat manusia dimensi-dimensi manusia baik kosmis, sosial maupun transendentai. Manusia yang ideal menurut Gandhi adalah pribadi seorang satyagrczhi.

This research has two objects: material and formal objects. It's material object is Gandhi's thoughts in relation with the Five Principles especially the principle of humanity that is just and civilized. It's formal object is the Antropology philosophy. The objective of this research is finding the elements of the Antropology philosophy in Gandhi's thoughts and teaching in order to enrich the subject of Antroplogy Philosophy that up till now stress the concept of humanity according to the West Philosophers and Thinkers. All data are found by using the library research not only in the primary works, but also in the secondary works: books and published results research in some Libraries in Y ogyakarta. All data are classified in according with the research topic. It is systematized and based on the description theoq, interpretation, reflection and factual historic in order to examine the hypothesis. The conclusion is based on the logc and science norms, so it can be justified. The result of the research concludes that the element of Antropology philosophy in Gandhi's thoughts can be justified from his primary work: An autobiography or The Story of My Experiments with Truth, All Men are Brothers.
