Aktivitas dan Persepsi Masyarakat terhadap Pengelolaan Taman Hutan Raya Gunung Menumbing

Kawasan Taman Hutan Raya Gunung Menumbing merupakan salah satu kawasan konservasi yang mempunyai kekhasan tumbuhan, satwa, dan ekosistem tertentu yang perlu dilindungi agar kelestariannya tetap terjaga. Namun demikian, eksistensi Tahura Gunung Menumbing saat ini menghadapi ancaman dari adanya aktivitas ilegal masyarakat berupa perambahan kawasan. Kondisi ini menimbulkan gangguan terhadap kelestarian sumberdaya alam yang ada di kawasan tahura. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik aktivitas masyarakat di dalam kawasan tahura dan mengetahui persepsi masyarakat terhadap pengelolaan Tahura Gunung Menumbing. Pengambilan data aktivitas dan persepsi masyarakat dilakukan dengan cara wawancara terhadap responden. Responden dipilih menggunakan teknik snowball sampling. Dari hasil snowball sampling diperoleh 48 responden aktivitas dan 57 responden persepsi. Responden aktivitas terdiri atas pekebun, penambang timah ilegal, dan pemburu satwa liar. Responden persepsi terdiri atas pekebun, penambang timah ilegal, pemburu satwa liar, dan pihak dari beberapa instansi terkait. Data aktivitas yang didapatkan kemudian dianalisis secara statistik deskriptif, sementara data persepsi dianalisis menggunakan metode Q dengan menggunakan software R Studio. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik aktivitas masyarakat di Tahura Gunung Menumbing meliputi bentuk aktivitas yaitu berkebun, menambang timah, dan berburu satwa liar. Frekuensi aktivitas berkebun dan menambang timah berada pada kategori tinggi, sedangkan frekuensi aktivitas perburuan satwa liar berada pada kategori rendah. Waktu aktivitas berkebun dan berburu satwa liar dilakukan pagi hari, sedangkan waktu aktivitas menambang timah dilakukan sepanjang hari. Terdapat tiga kelompok persepsi yang muncul di masyarakat antara lain: 1) masyarakat sekitar Tahura Gunung Menumbing kurang paham akan status, batas, dan fungsi tahura bagi kelestarian kawasan, 2) sudah sejak lama masyarakat sekitar memanfaatkan Tahura Gunung Menumbing untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidup, dan 3) Masyarakat sekitar kawasan belum dilibatkan dalam pengelolaan Tahura Gunung Menumbing.

The grand forest park of Gunung Menumbing is one of the conservation area that has a uniqueness of plants, animals, and certain ecosystems that need to be protected so its sustainability is preserved. However, the existence of Gunung Menumbing Grand Forest Park is currently facing threats from illegal community activities in the form of encroachment of the area. This condition causes disruption to the preservation of natural resources in the grand forest park area. This research aims to determine the characteristics of the community activities in the grand forest park area and to identify the community perceptions on the management of Gunung Menumbing Grand Forest Park. The data retrieval was done by interviewing respondents. Respondents were selected using the snowball sampling technique. From the results of snowball sampling obtained 48 activity respondents and 57 perception respondents. Activity respondents consist of farmers, illegal tin miners, and poachers. Perception respondents consist of farmers, illegal tin miners, poachers, and parties from several related agencies. The activity data obtained were then analyzed using descriptive statistics. The perception data were analyzed using the Q method. Tools used for the analysis of perception was R Studio software. The results showed that the characteristics of community activities in Gunung Menumbing Grand Forest Park included forms of activity namely gardening, tin mining, and hunting for wild animals. The frequency of gardening and tin mining activities is in the high category, while the frequency of wildlife hunting activities is in the low category. The time for gardening and hunting wild animals is carried out in the morning, while the time for tin mining activities is carried out throughout the day. There are three groups of perceptions that arise in the community including: 1) the community around the area do not understand about status, boundaries, and functions of the area for the preservation of the Gunung Menumbing Grand Forest Park, 2) for a long time, the community around the area have used the Gunung Menumbing Grand Forest Park to fulfill their daily needs, 3) the community around the area has not involved in the management of the Gunung Menumbing Grand Forest Park.
