WACANA MANTRA PENGASIHAN SEMAR: CERMIN MASYARAKAT JAWA DALAM MELIHAT PERJODOHAN DAN KEDUDUKAN

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan struktur, makna, dan fungsi mantra pengasihan Semar. Data penelitian ini di antaranya adalah tujuh jenis mantra pengasihan Semar beserta laku kebatinan dari masing-masing varian mantra. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode studi pustaka dan wawancara. Analisis difokuskan pada bentuk struktur mantra yang berupa bunyi, kohesi leksikal dan kohesi gramatikal, analisis makna semiotika, serta fungsi mantra. Hasil analisis dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya perbedaan kapabilitas dari masing-masing varian mantra pengasihan Semar. Perbedaan itu ditunjukkan dari adanya konstruksi linguistik serta aspek konteks berupa laku kebatinan dari masing-masing varian dalam mantra. Secara tekstual, unsur struktur dalam setiap varian mantra melibatkan adanya pemanfaatan bunyi, kohesi leksikal dan kohesi gramatikal. Dari pendeskripsian tersebut, peran teks dan konteks mantra menunjukkan adanya pandangan hidup masyarakat Jawa yang tersirat dalam mantra. Hal itu yang menandai adanya simbol kebudayaan dalam mantra. Selain pada simbol budaya, simbol agama yang menjadi aspek dalam mantra pengasihan Semar mengarah pada tameng legitimasi keagamaan. Fungsi dalam mantra pengasihan Semar memiliki tendensi terhadap penggunaan mantra secara individual, baik dari dari Subjek maupun dukun sebagai wakil Subjek.

The Purpose of this research is aimed to describe the structure, meaning, and function of Semar's compassion spells (mantra pengasihan Semar). The data of this research include seven types of Semar's compassion spells along with laku of each variant. Data collection using the method of literature study and interviews. The analysis is focused on the form of spell structure in the form of sound, lexical cohesion, and grammatical cohesion, the analysis of semiotics, and the function of spells. The results of the analysis in the research indicate that there are differences in the capabilities of each Semar's compassion spell variant. The difference is shown from the existence of linguistic construction and context aspects in the form of mystic behavior of each variant in the spells. Textually, the structural elements in the each variant of the spells involve the use of sound, lexical cohesion, and gramatical cohesion. From the description, the role of the text and context of the spells shows the existence of javanese society's life which is implied in the spells. Spells in addition to cultural symbols, religious symbols that are aspects of Semar's compassion spells lead to shields of religious legitimacy. The function of Semar's compassion spells has a tendency towards the use of individual spells, both from the Subject and the shaman as the Subject's representative. That which marked the existence of cultural symbols.
